Sitting Out
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread about it.
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this wooden chip case from Amazon. It looks pretty nice and they claim it's solid walnut. The price just seems too good to be true for a solid wood case of any decent quality. Maybe they cheaped-out on the metal fittings and latches, maybe it's low quality particle board with a veneer, I'm not sure.
If it is actually what it claims to be, it's kind of perfect. It's got a smaller footprint than the usual 500pc case of this type because they didn't put the card/dice slot in the middle like you see in all the cheap aluminum cases. There's a space beneath the trays for cards, dice, buttons extra chips and whatever you might need and it looks like it would accommodate a double-set box like most of the high-quality plastic cards come in. It looks nice enough to be a semi-decorative storage case, and if the fitting are nice, it should do fine for light transportation.
Might need to add some foam to the top depending on how tight the fit is, but that's really no big deal. Even replacing the latches or adding a third hinge for stability wouldn't be so bad. But only if the materials are good.
Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
