Will Kassouf... (14 Viewers)

I’ve only been paying half attention here. I did watch him on the feature for about an hour on Friday I think? I was shocked that people were actually waiting a good 60-90 seconds before calling clock on him. And I was also shocked to see him taunting the floor - that seems like a strange strategy.

But I haven’t yet found out what he did to earn a penalty. And was there something else that got him escorted out and banned?

Good lord I promise I’m not saying this as contrarian.

I thought this last night and searched the forum but didn’t see any posts. Then I googled but couldn’t find how many wsop tourneys he played in this year.

WSOP and it’s oversight, to me, appear toothless in almost everything they do, including here.

1. Why ban the man from additional wsop events now? It ends in literal days. Unless of course the ME was the only thing he played. All they did was assist him in creating a scene and boosting his $ making abilities - why would he ever stop this.

2. Why not follow a generally accepted procedure? Obviously how he acts is not okay, but then you don’t act, don’t act, don’t act, don’t act, then BOOM! You act in a way that obviously is going to greatly affect his play ability (instaclock), and you give him a platform from which to complain.

Honestly, it just looks like either they’re horrible at handling the worst, bristling characters, or they’re fine with the publicity it brings until a line is crossed and then they want to go full scorched earth.

Dude is obviously horrid to play with, but TDs completely mismanaged and bungled imo.

He was on drugs or having a panic attack. I’m all for speech play but he was talking non stop for hours. Not just when it was turn, he was actually talking non stop for hours. He wasn’t even in the hand and he couldn’t stop talking.

WSOP still mismanaged and it’s indefensible they don’t have shot clocks after day 4 like WPT and pokergostudio.

He might have been on something else, but in the end, he was most definitely on full tilt. Honestly, it was kind of funny to see his own antics backfire on him somewhat.

I think he's alright. People let him get under their skin. Calling the clock on him was abusive at the least, since people do far worse things when tanking for the bubble or a payjump, and there everyone is just sitting silent and playing along.

Rules should be the same for everyone. So if an action clock solves it - so be it.

Daniel has sufficient Kassouf coverage in today’s lengthy vlog

But long story short, it looks like the straw that broke the camel’s back was when Kenny Halleart called down kassouf’s all in with K5, then caught. Kassouf stood at the table berating Halleart and the world for several minutes.

As someone who's played with Will for hundreds of hours over the last 20 years, I can confirm that this is what he's always been like.

He's always tanked for silly amounts of time, always gone too far with the chat, and always been a losing player at £1/£2. Anyone else who's had the few years like he's had, I'd wish them well, but Will, I just can't find that in me sadly, he's now banned after stealing chips from his "mates"...A real loss to the game.

Hopefully, his 2025 ban, becomes a lifetime ban.

But has he ever been like he was yesterday? I mean, this was different no? He said post interview he had stomach issues and only slept 2 hours. He sure seemed to be hopped up on something.

He’d been whining about being sick, but the doctor was closed, on Thursday or Friday. In very much the same non-stop babbling.

I've seen him have blowups in £50 comps, I agree yesterday was wild and certainly seems to be his worst yet. But it's in keeping with the Will I know...high pressure, no sleep, cameras and his new "pro career" stuff as well...All became a bit too much for him.

It's on brand too though, he's trying to be the bad boy of poker. He'll get a load more social media engagement off the back of this. What a time to be alive!

He sure seemed to be hopped up on something.

As I was watching last night I was wondering the exact opposite. Dude seemed like he was off his meds to me.

Not making light of any situation and I am not a doctor, but he clearly suffers from narcissistic tendencies and paranoia fueled by some kind of mental illness. Every situation needed to be about him and when literally everyone was telling him he was wrong he turned it into a conspiracy while talking to his rail. He knew the camera was on and would be focused on him when it was his turn to act which is when he was hamming it up the most. He also quickly figured out the more he stalled and got the clock called on him, the more the TDs would talk to him and give him the attention he craved. When he wasn't getting the attention he needed he started focusing to the rail.

The whole thing felt more compulsive than performative or drug related to me while I was watching.

The WSOP's biggest mistake was not disqualifying him much sooner. If I said half the things he said, especially to the tournament officials, I'd have been bounced by day two.

Kassouf wants to whine about unfair treatment, but the fact that he was allowed to complete the tournament at all is preferential treatment in *his* favor.
