They certainly have that ASM/CPC look to them. Any brass flakes in the clay? Are they heavy or ultralight plastic? Could be ASM used a mold specific to CARO, but someone from ASM/CPC would probably have to chime in.

Robert Eisenstadt designates this the MD-16a mold and provides what little information is available to him here.

He states as follows:

Robert Eisenstadt said:
Caro is an old, famous gambling supply company that traces its origins to 1789!......... The company was called Gueret & Vallois in the 19th century. It became Briotet in 1903. Always located in Paris, they were the premier European sellers and manufacturers of gambling and billiard furniture and equipment, mother or pearl chips and early plastic gaming chips. After World War I the Briotet's adopted a war orphan named Caro. Eventually he ran the company, and about 1925 changed its name to Caro. About 1990 an American group took over Caro and moved it to St. Ouen, a Paris suburb. Today (2002) it deals only in billiards and no longer uses the Caro name.

Wonder what happened to all of their chip-making equipment...... molds, cups, presses, punches, clay.....

I was just looking at this mold recently on a website, the owner was saying the one he finally got was a flimsy plastic version. Cool you got the clay ones!

I want to come play in your closet! I envision one of those ball pits that kids play in. I would go running and jump into this huge pool of chips and just swim around with a smile on my face. The deals you keep putting up on CT are insane. One day I'll be fast enough.

So this isnt a threadjack......the caro chips look great! I'll take those too.

EDIT: Also by supernatural forces none of the chips would get damaged when I swam through them. Lets be honest if it damages the chips it would become a nightmare and not a dream.

BuMp.

I'm researching about this chips, I think it's ASM with a house mold special for CARO.
@semsallem tells me that there are shiny metal spangles, like ASM with copper ...
