So I just received some new chips that I plan to relabel as Aruba Palm Beach $1 chips. Now that I have them in hand, I'm trying to determine which of the other APB denomination choices ($25 and $100) go best with the set. I had a preference before the addition of the new $1 chip, but I'm a little less certain now that it's been added.

Curious what the group thinks.

I like bright colors. Love the $25 and $100 in option 4 best followed closely by option 3.

By themselves I likenthe 25 and 100 in 4. As a set I like 1

Individually, there's no question I like prefer $25 and $100 chip in option 4 as well.

It's when I put them together as a set that I start waffling between the options. I feel like addition of the new $1 chips kind of put the other $25 chip back in play as a viable option.

Also, for what it's worth, I have a lot more of the lighter green/white/pink $25 chips (400 vs 145) and a lot more of the black/gray/pink/green $100 chips (160 vs 40).

4. Then 1. I think those two options flow the best

Another thing I should mention is that with the addition of a $1 chip, this would likely be used as a 1/2 cash set where the $100 (and certainly the $500 chip) would seldom see any play. So I suppose with that in mind, how the top row of chips works together as a set is of higher priority than the two chips on the bottom.

is it me or just the fact that i am still on my first cup of coffee but 1 and 3 look great but they look identical to me????? are they not?

EDIT: oh nevermind...caffine just hit

hands down #3

Option 1, but because of this ^^ option 3.

Yeah i vote for #3. It would also mean every chip has some shade of green either as a base or in the spots. I like it!

Here are a couple shots in racks for comparison.

How many 5's do you have?

I have 735 x $5 chips (just the one type). Below is the rest of the breakdown.

200 x $1 (to be relabeled starbursts)
400 x $25 (green with pink/white)
145 x $25 (darker green with light blue/brown)
160 x $100 (black with gray/pink/green)
40 x $100 (black with blue/orange/brown)
85 x $500 (to be relabeled canceled CVB $2 chips)

Awesome. Seeing the stack pics, I like the base color of the darker $25 much better, so option 1 by a mile for me. Keep 60 of the hundos with gray/green/pink then you could sell off the other $25's and hundos to chippers looking to build mixed tourney set.

Option 1 or 2 for me. The brighter 25's don't fit imo.

That's why I thought it was important to post the stack pics too. Plus, more pics in a thread are always better ;)

My intention from when I first bought the chips almost 4 years ago was to figure out what I wanted to keep and then sell the rest. I also had the idea of splitting the set into a cash and tournament set and then selling the latter (see this thread). Although that thread was created before I had the chips for the $500 denomination, so there would be more flexibility in terms of creating a tournament set (it wouldn't necessarily have to include giving up any $5 chips).

For me, 3 & 4 are out -- the brighter red and white are jarring, and don't go with the overall tones of the rest of the set.

The choice for me would be #1, because it has a green element on every chip. #2 does not have a green element on the hundo.

I remember when you were first putting this set together and I'm glad it's still getting some attention even though you've moved onto other projects.

I would probably go option 1, but there's really no bad choice. Great chipes. How about full set pr0n?

Yeah, I must have just bought them right before the meetup and brought up those samples I showed you. They've saw some play over the next few years. Never ended up relabeling a $1 chip at the time, just used a couple racks of Monte Carlo THC $1 chips instead. They worked well enough; Condition was comparable and the red denomination was of similar size and location on both chips.

They've been in storage (along with the rest of my chips post move) for the past 2+ years, but I figured now would be a good time to see if I could find a good candidate for a $1 chip to relabel. I think the ones I picked up are promising, I'm anxious to see how they'll actually look once I relabel them.

Below is a picture I happen to have already uploaded from a few years ago of the Aruba Palm $5 chips and the Monte Carlo $1 chips in action. I'll pull all of them back out tomorrow and take some full set pr0n (had to remove all my chips from the main area in the basement as I let my 9-year old and 7 of his friends take over the basement for 4 hours today for a birthday party - I'm still recovering from that).

How about full set pr0n?

Below are a few I just took. I'll try to take a few more later. As it is, Mrs Bentax already called down a few times and asked if I was almost ready to go grab lunch and I responded with, "hold on, just taking a couple more pr0n pictures for jbutler".

So I decided on which combos to use. I decided to make both a 1/2 cash set and a single table tournament set out of what I had. I ended up going with the darker green $25 for the cash set since it went better with the $1 chip (IMO). The rest fell into place after that based on my chip breakdown.

So here's what they look like together in their respective sets.

Cash starting stack of $300 (20/36/4)
