For a couple months now, I've been playing with a layout I can print on foamboard and cut holes in, with the goal of having a framed display for my WSOP sample set. I also wanted to pay homage to some of the great players in the WSOP.

Thanks to @doublebooyah85s generosity this weekend, I'm now very motivated to finally finish this. This would go into a 20x24 frame.

I'd love your feedback on the readability, overall look and feel, and which version (BW or color) you think looks better. All constructive feedback welcome!
P.S. The uploads got a little blurry, but good enough for feedback I think. Some of the chip images are janky too - I don't have these in hand yet, so using what I could find to plan the layout.

OPTION 1: Black and White

I'm leaning towards the black and white version. It lets the colors of the chips pop a bit more. It looks sharp either way.

I'd recommend at least some UV blocking film on the glass to help protect the chips, unless this is going to live in a basement game room. We see enough UV damaged chips show up on eBay that it would be a shame to ruin these gems.

Pretty damn cool. Not a fan of the buy in chip spot is my only feedback.

Looks great!
Isn‘t the almond 250k RHC 39mm too?

I prefer the full color one… I think it’s faded enough that the chips will still pop.

I’m genuinely more irritated by the layout, with the primary-to-tertiary running right-to-left instead of left-to-right. It’s tilting. :wtf:

I'm with you on that. Maybe I just need to switch the title over to the right side and flip the whole thing. I'll give it a shot.

I like color too

I would go all 39mm on the left side as they were introduced then to the right the oversized primaries

Then secondary 818, followed by WSOP mold.

Went a different direction based on the helpful feedback many of you gave - I'd love more critical feedback:
  • Reduced / simplified labels (now just chip sizes in red when the size changes in a given set)
  • One row for each set
  • Reduced graphics (no more Rio sign background) + added more of the WSOP Legends / portraits

If I stick with this design, my goal will be to try to get red foil lettering for the chip size labels, the years and the small details of the WSOP logo. Might have to add those myself, as I've found vendors can either print / cut mats, or do foil lettering, but not both.

You are missing one chip that we haven’t seen yet. A canary 43mm 100k. I don’t have it nor have I seen it, but I hadn’t seen half of these up until a year ago.

Yes - good catch! I will add a cutout for that one - an "empty" slot in anticipation of someone hitting another big score. Thank you!
