I have a little black mop, and apply it lovingly to chips as people sleep. Like a tooth fairy. But with hooker juice. And a tiny mop.

When the hot dog was first created in the late 1800s, it was referred to as a “Coney Island Sandwich” or “Frankfurter sandwich.” Additionally, the first entry under “sandwich” in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “sandwich” as “two or more slices of bread or a split roll having a filling in between."

Along the same lines, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has always defined sandwiches as "consisting of two slices of bread or the top and bottom sections of a sliced bun that enclose meat or poultry."

Following these definitions as well as its original name, it is undeniable that a hot dog is a sandwich. It is a split roll with a filling (the sausage) in between.

So subway doesn't make sandwiches. Someone better call subway up and notify them about the sandwich rules..

That's a roll, sliced open, but not two pieces of bread.

Maybe gourmet hot dogs consist meat or poultry, but those of us factory workers here can attest to the fact that hot dogs are made of meat by-products, and not actual meat - you just proved my point (I hope with all the butt-hurt people here lately that you guys know I am just being silly and having fun and not trying to have a serious argument about what is and what is not a sandwich, because whether or not it is a sandwich does not stop me from eating it) :cool
