What does “bump” mean (1 Viewer)

I was checking out the classifieds here and I keep seeing messages saying “bump”. Maybe I’m dumb but I cannot figure out what this means using the context haha
 
It's a post to 'bump' the thread to the top of the list. Gives the thread more visibility.
 
Because the Classified section is very active, ads could get missed or forgotten as they get pushed down the list, it allows the member to move their ad to the top of the new posts list/page. It can be done once per day.
 
You don't need to actually say bump. Any post will accomplish the same objective (like this one).

It is also a way to increase your post count for giveaway eligibility, although very much frowned upon.
 
If a "For Sale" thread has the OP (original post) followed by 15 or 20 "Bump" posts, it may indicate that the asking price is somewhat excessive.
