Did you check out kitchen timers with a large display? Have not tried them and also not sure if these are big enough but some look. Images are from Amazon.

At my cash home game(4.5 hr session) we each get 2 time bank cards. The dealer can call time if he believes the player is taking too long to act. Then the player must toss in a time bank card, or call, raise or fold immediately. Once the time bank card is on the table, we start the countdown timer- 30 seconds. If the timer gets to zero, the hand is dead.
We use a digital egg timer than can be set for whatever seconds you decide upon. Once it gets to zero, it goes back to 30 seconds for the next time. I purchased 2 of them. It takes a button battery. $5 at Walmart.
