First question is how many straddles does your game allow? Second question is what's the typical opening raise amount in bb? And to tie it all together what stakes is your game?

My old game back east was .25/.50 and we got up to $128 numerous times and $256 3 or 4 times. Unlimited straddles. The game got big enough that I had to limit it to single straddle at the end, else everyone was facing a $32 call with action behind every hand. 25/50c is ok. 1/2 is fun. 2/4 is great. 4/8 with those stacks is lol. But .25/.50/1/2/4/8/16/32 was just getting idiotic with $300 effective stacks.First question is how many straddles does your game allow? I allow UTG straddles up to but not the button.
It's because the button has the advantage (power) post flop. This would give the button the advantage pre flop too. Thus an even greater advantage. Is the rational for “not the button” because he has the advantage because he is last to raise/call/fold?
