Hopped into the 11am flight of the $360 NLH tourney with a 150k guarantee. Start with 30k chips and 40 minute blinds
Early on (by lvl 3) I have built my stack to 60k with my new tourney philosophy ABR (always be raising)
We get to 300/600/600 and I raise UTG to 1500 with Aces, get two callers (button and BB)
Flop is AT2 with two clubs obe heart and the BB check-calls my 3500 bet. Turn is 4 hearts and he spazes a 6500 bet into me, I shove, he thinks and calls with 87 clubs for his last 12k so monster pot here, of course he spikes the J clubs on the river as an 85/15 underdog, knocking me down to 25k
Then I run TT into QQ and A8 into A9 on an Ace-high flop to bust
But that was fine, because I had just gotten a seat at the 2nd 2/5 PLO with a rock table
Lady in her 50's is at the table cussing out another player for a hand he won and we soon but heads
I limp A985 suited after a bunch of other limpers, she raises button, everyone calls
Flop 886 and she fires $215 and I just call, turn another 6 and she fires $215 while saying "you don't get it!" Aggressively towards me, and I pot, we get it all-in because I know she has Aces, figure she's overplaying them and has one out
We agree to run it twice and it turns out I'm a favorite
I manage to river the 9 on the first board and we chop the 2nd board so I win 3/4 of the pot
Then she goes on a tirade about how I don't "get it" and I reply "actually, I DO get it, 3/4th of the pot!!" And everyone is cracking up cause they can't stand her toxic persona. She says "you can't fix stupid" and steamed for a full hour after that
In another hand I have 7765 ds and see an 887 flop, one bettor and two callers, but I can't really raise the underfull
Turn 2 and river 3 and I stick around, kid who was betting bets $75, with his A8xx and another player calls, I call and scoop
Wound up making $800 in the PLO game so was a good night
