I am about to recover the rail on my poker table. Last time I followed the steps on the old poker table forum that has since been shut down. Anyone have some tips for me on the process so I can get a good result?

Thanks

Fun times, my least favorite part of building a poker table.

  • Start on the outside.
  • Staple at the points where the straight meets the curve first, 4 points. Then put in a staple at each end.
  • Split the difference putting in a couple of staples at each spot.
  • Don't try staple too wide of an area all at the same time, this can cause wrinkles when you start to staple the next section
  • Staple the insides, same process.
  • Pull using even pressure as best you can around the table.
  • You do not have to pull until your fingers hurt, but also the tighter you pull, the better chances of less/no wrinkles, but even is the key
  • Use a LOT of staples. There should be no more than a 1cm gap between staples when you're all done. My staples nearly touch each other.
Take breaks. It's tough on the back and fingers doing it all in one go.

Good luck!

Not unhappy with the results but I am tired.

Buy good quality foam and vinyl! I went to a furniture store and he had high density foam that when topped with a good vinyl is better than any table at a casino.
