My deep cup holders are on the table race track, but my plan is to remove the racetrack/cup holders and thinking of installing them o my rail, which I plan to widen
to 6".
I'm looking for any tips, pics, suggestions etc on how to do that successfully.

One important question, does the rail cup holders sit directly in front of the seated players?

Thanks for any info

To the side of each player is the most neutral / safe choice :)

edit: edit to say if I was putting them in the rail I'm not sure whether I'd prefer in front or to the side. If coming from under the rail then definitely between players though.

Can't seem find any drink carts with buold in cupholders.
It takes room to use drink carts. That is something that I don't have. If I didn't already have pull out snack trays under the table for each player, I may have entertained putting them under the table as pull outs. Unlike the snack trays, once a drink is in the pull out cup holders, they can't be closed, thus may be in the way when someone is getting up from the table.

The placement on the rail isn’t generally what will dictate if they are in front of the player or to the side…it’s where the player chooses to sit. And I think most prefer to sit with the holder in front of them.

My table is 84x42, and will sit 8 people, with the cup holders on the rail. Does anyone have a schematic of where they placed the cup holders. I'm at the stage in my build where I'm about to start the rail build with the cup holder rings.

I guess it depends on how big your drink is…we go big
Yeah, we drink beer out of a can, but some pour it into tall beer glass, rum, whiskey, vodka from medium tall glasses and bottles water...
I think it will be OK, ....until the first drink is spilled lol My old racetrack with the cup holders and rail will be put in my storage room until I get confirmation from my players that they like the new table.
We never had a spill from the racetrack, but the cup holder was to the right of the players...in between the cup holders was the dedicated space for chips.

I'm leaning towards this set up for the cup holders on the rail, basically in between where the cup holders are now.

I built a fine table years ago. I decided to use the casino type "slide under rail" cup holders. I kept 10 of them to cover all positions at the table and if someone had a drink, I issued them a cup holder. The player could move it to wherever it felt most comfortable for them. It worked just fine as I had a lot of area per seating position on my table. I don't think I ever had a game when all 10 were in use. It was a cheap, quick and easy solution. If you're dealing with a smallish table, this might not be the best option. I personally don't like holes in the racetrack or the rail.

Unfortunately, I can't do that because I have an under rail diffuser with COB LED lights so I can't slide anything under there.
I do have pull out snack trays under the table, so that doesn't leave me room for under table drink holders.

Aesthetically I don’t like cup holders in the rail, but it’s really nice for practical purposes.

I have the ones that side out below the rail, and they sit a bit low. People knock them, forget they are there, and in the rail is nice and dead middle of your seat. Keeps the table lined up well.

Swivel out below you is also a tussle between you and another player.

I have slide outs for snack bowls below the table. They sit just to the right of the players seats. The tray can be closed even with the bowl in them. Slide outs are not the ideal for drinks because they can be in the way. This is where they were when I had my racetrack with the up holders on there.
