Thoughts on my Marvel Custom Set Design (1 Viewer)

I LOVE this idea and these designs.

I also really like the suggestion of a full face and edge ceramic set.

Either way, I will be watching the development of this closely. Can’t wait to see how it ends up.

Side note: I’m somewhat new to the custom chip world, but I am a lawyer by training. Do people not run into copyright/trademark issues designing custom sets like this that are best on expensive and well-protected IP? I’m not sure anyone would care about a personal set that isn’t used for commercial purposes. I’m just wondering if anyone in the community has had to deal with this kind of thing before …

To be clear, I am retired from law practice and not interesting in practicing ever again, let alone prosecuting or defending a case like this. Just asking out of pure curiosity because once you’re a lawyer, it’s hard to turn off that way of seeing things …

People have been using well-known brand logos on their personal chip sets for decades, probably, with the most common examples being sports teams, movie-associated designs, and historical casinos no longer in business. If any copyright-holders are noticing, then none/very few are caring, because nobody is really mass producing these things for sale at a profit to the general public. They just have a set or an item for their own personal use.

This looks super cool, when these are finished I want to try and buy a set. If possible, please let me know when this is finished and if not, I’ll be keeping a close eye on this to try and buy when finished

Working on inlay designs, but this is close to being finished chip set…it will be a cash and tournament set combined.

That’s good to know. I recall seeing a cool Game of Thrones inspired set a while back, and I thought the creator said something about gettin it blessed by GRRM. So, I thought there might have been some history of people getting into trouble even with their home sets. Glad to hear that’s not the case. I’ve got a few ideas for some pop-culture-inspired sets that I might start to think more about now …
