Hi guys I would like to buy a custom poker set on CPC but I don't know how to create a custom inlay, do you have any idea or web app to create a custom one ???

You’ll need three posts but look at the resource thread for those listed as designers. There are many talented people here that will help if asked. One thing not lacking here - opinions.

I used Corel Paintshop. Haven't started the ordering process with CPC yet but plan on doing it sometime soon.

I know this isn't your thread, but spacing between the words seems off, and the bulls don't look centered. Take your time and make sure you're very happy before ordering!

@RP673 , welcome! Take your time, tons of helpful people and threads on here. Worst case you rush into something and spend hundreds if not thousands on a set you're not perfectly happy with.

If you want to brainstorm ideas, there are a lot of sites nowadays which generate free logos. You would need to make modifications and add denoms etc. but this gives you a head start:

https://www.design.com/s/logo-maker

If you put in the main name of the set and a description of the feel you want, you instantly get thousands of suggestions. Try “poker” or “outdoors” or “cars” or whatever.

If you select one you like, it then puts you into a design tool that lets you change colors, fonts, etc.

I designed my custom set from scratch, but I think tools like this are useful at minimum for helping you to decide what kind of look you want.

Just as an example, I put in my group’s name at the site above with some keywords (poker, nature, etc.) and got a zillion suggestions. I picked one, used their editor to do some type on a curve, then threw the result into a photo editing program. In 10 minutes I had this:

Not the world’s most complex inlay, but not bad for 10 minutes of futzing around. (Pardon the low-res quality, I just took a screenshot. It’s sharper in-program.) I’d have to find a place for a denom, but you get the idea.

Thanks for the input. The bulls are centered to the white ring which everything is snap centered to. I'll definitely have to take a closer look at the spacing between the words. The difference in size between the capital letters and lower case letters throws the look of the alignment off. Good thing I still have the project file saved.

Before thinking of designing an inlay, you need a concept around which you want the inlay to be. Long before I design any of my sets, I have had an idea.

My first set was "Vintage Rat-Pack era Vegas"

Second set "bold with strong inspiration from the MGM Grand house chips"

Third was a tribute set to the California Club, a long ago closed small casino on Fremont Street in Vegas

Sixth was a tribute to the manga and anime Fullmetal Alchemist.

Once I had the concept, I was able to start making sketches on cocktail napkins and collecting images here and there for inspiration. Only then did I start to actually build the inlay itself. I use Photoshop and start laying out and adjusting elements to get what I'm aiming for (I've been a longtime PS user, so it's a natural tool for me to use but it's not the preferred for this kind of work). I may go through a few dozen iterations with many test prints before I'm happy (Devil's Nest alone has 37 versions when I look back at the directory where I was working on them).

Spots and colors sometimes worked in parallel with the inlay, sometimes I had those mostly set before inlay work started. It's hard to have a fixed and finished inlay design and then decide what to do with the chip itself. The best designs have both elements working together and not forcing one to fit the other. Use the design tool to your advantage:

Hope this helps a bit. Custom chips, especially CPCs are a labor of love and shouldn't be rushed. Take you time and enjoy the process.

(I realize I really should think about taking new pictures of my sets. It would be a big project but I know I can do better than some of what I've done before.)
