I checked with my doctor, my cardiologist, my priest, my rabbi, my therapist, my accountant, my financial advisor, my lawyer, and my astrologist. They’re all in agreement about my poker chips.

I can’t take them with me.

I damn sure don’t want the *lawyer* to get them, so I guess it’s time to hold some more auctions. :ROFLMAO:

As soon as I get some photos done, I’ll post the first batch of auctions tonight. I’ll have a range of stuff from starter chips to nice Paulsons, TRKs, etc. I really hope you find something useful for your games.

(Not to worry… I don’t plan to kick the bucket soon, but the years are rolling by quickly, and the number of poker chips in the safe is just plain stupid.)

Damn. Now I’m afraid to go to bed …

PSA - I just noticed another HOARD ALERT on ChipGuide…

Really we should all post pictures of our sets of older stuff so those guys can adjust their singles prices.

As it is now they command high prices because of perceived rarity. We could possibly lower the prices for ourselves by exposing true quantities.

Well, I try very hard not to judge, but the Sahara $500 plaque is redundant with the nice Aladdin five hundos. Also, the Sahara $1,000 plaque is redundant, and just looks completely out of place.

But, hey, I *do* offer a solution: I’ll send you a pre-paid pre-addressed shipping label you can slap on a PFRE to send those two plaques my way. They will join many more of their other “rescue” brothers and sisters here at the ski lodge. (Ooooo… can we bait ChipGuide into a HOARD ALERT for Sahara plaques?!) :ROFLMAO:

I actually collect the plaques for my hot stamp set, but figured they’d look good with the house mold photo!

<sigh> This sounds like I’m being a bit mean to ChipGuide, but I truly love that site. They provide SO much useful information for ALL chippers, even us “playable sets” gals and guys who HOARD!

It’s true, though it sure would be nice if they had updated the UI at least once since building the site back in 1993. :ninja:

Is “after NFL kickoff” a good time for U.S. members who like NFL football?

I feel like I’m being dense and possibly missing something here. :wtf: At 1:30 pm EDT, I’ll be in the middle of watching multiple NFL games. :)

Don’t misunderstand… I can and will set an alarm on my phone to remind me of an auction of interest (even if it’s in the middle of the night). However, I remember multiple people over the years saying that they forgot to bid because they were busy/distracted watching football.

I thought about switching my auctions from ending on Sunday evening EDT to ending on Saturday afternoon, but then I remembered college football.

Then I remembered about people saying Thursday and Friday nights are bad because they’re out with friends and family for happy hours and dinner.

Etc. Etc.

I’m really not sure there IS a great time to end auctions that works for everyone, but I’m interested in reading additional opinions.

I don’t wish to hijack Craig’s auction here, so if you feel like weighing in on the topic, feel free to drop your comments in my thread at the linke below:

I've personally seen a lot of auction items that I would be interested in, but I don't even bother bidding because they end in the middle of the night for me here in Europe. The recent auctions for some BTP chips come to mind - the seller would have most certainly ended up with more money in their pockets had I been awake when the auctions ended. But that's just one PCFer's opinion.

Personally, I've always appreciated TCR sales that take place on a Sunday afternoon (evening time in Europe).

I think if you are immediately after nfl kickoff u should be fine. Everyone is in a rush to get their morning routine done, fantasy lineup set, then the game kicks off and the first hour of a game isn’t important. Probably on their phones still anyway and it includes the Europe crowd.

Our car dealership website traffic was the highest at 9 AM, noon, 4 PM and 10 PM. Noon = lunch break. 9am = people checking the site as they get to work. 4pm = the day is long and people are checked out at work. This was a huge spike tbh.

3-4pm final answer and Tuesday-Thursday. Best time to end an auction. Also gets Europe in on the action.

Tommy, mind sharing PCF top 3 hour slots for website traffic? @Tommy
