Taking a friend to play poker at a casino for the first time (6 Viewers)

Was gonna say you shouldn’t have to worry about ID at a Detroit casino. Last time I went I got to security to pull out my ID, guy laughed and said “you good dog”….. asked him it was the bald head or grey in my beard that tipped him off that I was over 21….. he just laughed again

Those are some sexy white leather NBs.

Only thing keeping the table alive is the two high hand jackpots paid out at the table.

Starting to get some fresh blood. Unfortunately, they w all been in Seat 8. Once OMC left, a new guy filled in for one hand, then went to $2/$5. Another guy filled in for half an or it, then went to $2/$5. Another new guy just say down; we'll see how long he lasts.
Sounds like a different game is calling ;) Near me, 1/2 is a 400 cap and 2/5 has much better action and nobody buying in for $60 at a time, so I often recommend just buying in at 2/5 for 500 (cap is 1.5k) over sitting at nitty daytime high hand 1/3 tables. Bigger pots keep the rake more manageable, and the vibes are usually better.

I never seen it nitty like that. All super nice guys (all were in for $200 or $300) and I had fun chatty with them, but I would asked for a table change if it wasn't for sitting at the same table with my friend.

I've sat at the $2/$5 table before and didn't have fun (small sample size).

I ended up down $200, my friend ended up down about $250.

Now I gotta deal with this:

John's dog bit my calf through my pants when I picked him up.

Luckily, his dog bites a lot of people/other dogs and is up on his shots.

As with all things, YMMV. Daytime high hand tables at my local casino are like a retirement home. As long as the vibes are good thats all that matters if you're not there purely for the grind.
