I am considering cutting into my table and putting a shuffler in it. I am curious about what may be the best placement, since I am a little nervous about making a cut into the table in the first place, I want to make sure it is positioned right. Sometimes I see it parallel to the edge of the chip tray, and then sometimes I see it angled. Curious if anyone has a shuffler installed in their table. Currently I have two shuffle techs and I have those installed in carts that I put beside the dealer. It is working okay but when we have an extra player then we have to move it and it kind of negates the ease of use. I am looking to put a commercial shuffler in our existing table and put the shuffle techs on backup duty. Any advice or pics would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you have a dedicated dealer? If so, I would orient the lid so that it is easy for the dealer to open and close it. If the game is self-dealt then I would have it perpendicular to the table so that it is accessible to two sides of the table, as pictured below. This is taken from the middle of the table.

You have a commercial shuffler to install? Like a shuffle master?

If you have one, that's unreal.
I was able to get a Shuffle King. Really there is only this european brand and then the shuffle master Deckmates. Obvioiusly I'll post some pictures up when I am done with the project.

We have a dedicated dealer so I was thinking about going a little above the chip tray and off to the right. We tend to pile the pots on the left of the community cards anyhow. What do you think about just making it square with the chip tray instead of the rotation so it is angled?

I’ve noticed some cardrooms put them in slightly different positions from table to table.

For example, the Bally’s poker room has their Deckmates to the right of the dealer, although some of their tables have the cutout closet to the dealer, while other tables in the same poker room has it almost to the betting line near seat 6. Having played in those seats quite a bit there, i very much dislike the shuffler to be too close to the 6 seat. Closer to the dealer as a player seems better to me.

Also, the only poker room in Vegas that I’ve visited so far that seems like they have their shufflers level with the felt is the Wynn. Every other place I’ve been to has them too far sunk in. This would be the biggest factor to me, even over placement on the table.

By this you mean like maybe the shuffler lip is probably compressing the foam too much so then stuff slides into the sunken in area? I was thinking maybe putting something under the lip like trim some dense foam or maybe even create a wood spacer to help keep it level with the playing field.

Here is a pic for possible placement. I obviously have to be far enough away from the dealer to keep the integrity of the table. The other consideration is that this is on a folding table so I have to make sure I am away from the brackets for that as well. The thing is heavy. Like 25-30lbs.

Here is a link for a quick video I took if you are interested.

Let me know what you think.

Any woodworking tips or General tips from you builders out there on how I should make this cut out in the table?

For me, it needs to be mounted to the left of the tray, perhaps with their top edges aligned.

To make the cutout, I would first make a paper template. Make mistakes on the template, not on the table.

Like even more to the left than the pic I have above?

Here is the approximate area I am thinking now, Flop ie easily placed in the middle and then pot to the left of that. Most of the dealers are right handed. Plus this is also in line with the legs of the table as it is a folding table. About 2 inches to the left of the dealer tray and approx 20 inches from the edge of the table to get it centered.

Man that shuffler is awesome! Did it come with a warrant or servicing rights from the company that sold it to you?

I was just recently watching some poker vlogs, and that may be a good source to check out, the ones that have footage of the actual tables at the casinos, to see where different casinos place their shufflers (if they use them). The pic below is from Trevor Savage's blog - Raising the Nuts, where they were playing a meet-up game at Maryland Live (I think it was actually Andrew Neeme's meetup game, but Trevor was there, too.). Here it's positioned right of the dealer and in the center of the table, but it is close enough to the dealer to allow the 10 seat, 9 seat, etc. to have room to push their chips out into the middle of the table, with the shuffler not being in their way.

Mariano Poker and Jaman Burton are a couple other vloggers where I remember them having extended footage of poker hand action filmed at the tables, too.

Nope it is just an as is, most of the companies don't want to sell you one directly. your best bet is to find one third party. And yeah this shuffler is awesome. I have two shuffle techs and they dont really even get use anymore.

Well depending on their condition and price I might be interested in one!

budget for about 6k ish
Oh I meant one of your Shuffletechs if you ever decide to sell lol! :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO:

If my games had a rake or a way for me to make back the 6k I'd buy one but everything is completely free so I currently use a shuffletech as well.

Oh lol so sorry I took that out of context, yeah I'll let you know about the shuffletechs, they are kind of on back up duty for when we have a 2nd table as I already have carts made for them.

Nice! I also have mine in a cart! Sounds like you got a great game running!

Did you manage to get your shuffler installed in you table...was thinking you may have had some issue with table legs/pedastal in the location you chose. How's everything working so far? Any problems..jamming ect.. Any new pics?

I don't know about the placement. Within reach but not in the way of the chip tray. Will the dealer also be playing poker, bec they need a place to keep their own chips and cards that's not in the way of either chip tray or shuffler...

So my recommendation for how to install it would be to make an X cut in the cloth that isn't the same size as the hole (smaller), and then to cut the foam and the wood table separately (possibly from below). That way you can carefully turn the felt around the edge of the hole and staple it beneath. This way the cloth won't fray and will be tidy since you're constantly moving the shuffler in and out of the folding table surface.

A removable bracket for under the table could make sense too.

Remove the felt before making the cut-out. Reinstall the felt, then make the X cut and staple underneath. Then install the shuffler. A shelf or support bracket is recommended, but I prefer a full enclosure that can be soundproofed with insulation.

That's nice

Here’s my setup. It took me about 3 weeks to convince myself to cut into my table. It turned out great! View attachment 407152
This is nice

I’m rethinking of putting my shuffler to the left of the dealer... with the rake slide and chip box underneath it almost has to go to the left of the dealer tray
