Tonight's my first session at my local room since February 2020. We're playing eight handed max, and for the three hours I've been here, I haven't been able to chip up or donk it off. Currently in for 300 and sitting on about 275.

What are those chips made from? looks like they have seen better days

Also, looks like they've added some new crappy chips to go with the old shredded crappy chips.

I watch Kyle Fischl's vlog. He mostly plays at that casino with the same chips. Always thought those tires had plenty of milage on them. Many of them seem to spin easily, too.
Yep, I follow him too but don't know him. I play mostly 1/2 here.

You ever played with Kyle Fischl? He vlogs from that place all the time.

Edit: Got ninja'd

Final results from last night: in for 400, out for 500. (Disclaimer: this is a pic from earlier in the session, so it's not exactly 500.)

What a ridiculous roller coaster of a session. It was standard 1/2 with several players seeing each flop with ATC. I was 0 for 3 with KK last night, losing to 67o (flopped a straight), Q3s (flopped a 3, turned a Q), and 77 (turned a set).

Hand of the night: I 3b AKss and the small stack opener 4b shoves 60, I snap. He rolls 64o and the board runs 66Q44. Nice hand sir. Funny thing is that my initial image of this guy was a bit OMC, but after this and another similar hand, I realized how rusty my reads are after over a year of almost no live poker. :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

I played like crap early on, too passive and paying off in a few spots I shouldn't have. But by the end of the night I was running and playing better, and I managed to eke out a small win.

Holy crap, it’s been one hell of a night. Bought in for $10k at 6:25pm. It’s 1:04am.

Big hand of the night was a 3-way all-in for a total pot of $72,500.

Blinds are 25/50, but it’s a loose game, and 90% of hands are being raised preflop to at least $400. I’m in the small blind, and look down at :jh::qc:.

UTG has straddled for $200. Gets one caller in late position. Comes back to me and I just call. UTG checks his straddle option. UTG and I each have about $30k behind, and caller in LP has under $15k.

Flop is :8d::9s::tc:.

I check, hoping one of them has hit something.

UTG thinks for a second, and bets $1200.
LP wastes no time, raising to $5200.
I call, and UTG tanks for a bit. He then re-raises to $13,200, effectively putting LP all-in.

LP now goes into the tank for a really long time. I assume he has a set, maybe 8s, or maybe 2 pair. He finally calls, reluctantly.

I Hollywood for a bit, and then go all-in.

UTG sighs. Calls. Turns over :jd::7s:.
LP sighs, turns over :6c::7c:.

Mother of God.

Turn is a :2h: and the river is the :ac:.

:eek:

Most home games in LA don’t care about chips. I’ve posted these chips before, calling them the ugliest ones I’ve ever played with.
I mean, at least they have custom labels, but man, those labels are the best they could come up with? What's the even supposed to be with the mushrooms? Underground poker game of some magic mushroom dealer named Kate? "Come see 'Mushroom Kate', for all your poker and hallucinogenic needs!" :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Sadly, the story is more straightforward. The guy who runs the game is a big fan of Psilocybins and his favorite hold’em hand is King 8.

The chips may be ugly, but hearing about the game and seeing Krish's chip stacks makes me want to buy a fraction of Krish's action.
