Arguments for: They are all Colorado chips. There are definitely denoms from casinos that I don’t have, and I could conceivably make a 1/3 or 2/5 rat rod set out of these, combined with the chips I already have.

Arguments against: I don’t need any more Colorado chips. There are a lot of duplicates here that I already have. They cost money that I could use to buy other things.

Convince me!

Nope. Lots of duplicates and half the fun is finding them and collecting. Dont start a rat rod set just to start.

What's a "rat rod set"?
It’s a set made up of a mix of different styles, molds, spot patterns, inlays, or designs. Most PCFers have no desire to amass such a set, but there are a few around here who flaunt theirs.

So any single denomination can be made up of individual chips of different styles (like $5 chips from various casinos, assuming they are all the same base color)?

Yup. They can be triggering for some OCD types who like uniformity, but for the right crowd, they are a nice change of pace.

Hmmmm, if I was in your shoes and don’t need more, I usually hold off unless it’s an incredible price. that’s all in theory though. in reality, I don’t have any discipline and if it’s MS it’s always yes lol good luck brother man! Stay strong!
