These seem to be getting more common? There’s no doubt that the internet sees what happening here with our chip buying and selling practices. Looks like they are starting to pay a lot more attention to us nowadays, can only expect them to get more sophisticated.
Poppin92 groomed his account for months. With this kind of money floating around it’s only a matter of time before someone else does this, if they aren’t already working on it.

This is a scam advertisement. I’m leaving it up to raise awareness.

There are several red flags in their ad and replies (and what I can see behind the scenes) The scammer became a supporter using a likely stolen UK PayPal account. The transaction has been reversed and reported to PayPal.

They referenced an eBay account (which may also be compromised) to check their feedback. The eBay account is a US account with feedback only for buying.

Thanks for the warning.

I know it’s probably just perspective, but the chip on the end of the rolls looks larger diameter than the rolls.

Could a scammer print an edge shot of chips, wrap that around a cylinder, and then put a real chip or two on the end, shrink wrap the whole thing so it looks glossy - Then he could claim “all the chips I sold were real”.

Seems like a lot of effort when the scammer can just post pictures of real chips, take money from buyer and ship noting.

Do you mind elaborating? I’m new and quite interested in how scammers angle here. I’ve made 2 purchases from folk that are well established but I was a little taken back by some of the larger purchases people make the first month or so, especially considering PPFF or Venmo seems the norm. Starting to normalise to it all so best be on my guard.

Thumb of rules is if the deal is too good to be real, they are unlikely to be real

Very sincere THANKS to @Tommy and all you other guys who properly cast doubt on the authenticity of the scammer. Credit, too, to @Flopalopagus for attempting to help what *could* have been an honest newbie.

I hope no one deems this the improper place or time, but just in case any of you missed it, I have a few racks of Empress Joliet secondary hundos for sale. Totally authentic photo below:

Too soon?

Kidding aside, this is one of the very best online communities ever.:tup:

If you're only here to sell your chips that's fine, I'm not likely to buy anything from a non-member member.

Even if you're not scamming, and you're only here because you found the kitty pool and have candy that you can sell for more than you can to the Normals, I'm still not likely to buy from you.

Be a member, contribute to the community, not a circling vulture, we are not all lambs...
