I don't see the issue. They are exactly what you described them as - suggestions.

I run a business. I can tell you if I ignored my customers suggestions and feedback and just laughed at the thought that they could "run it better than me", I'd be stuck in the stone age.

No one is telling anyone what to do. Jim's free to listen to his customers thoughts or to ignore. But again, I don't see the issue...

Honestly I don't see the issue either. However, Jim can do literally anything he wants to do as he is the sole player in this market. Do you have competition in your field? I assume yes, which is why you have to listen to your customers suggestions.

I'm not saying Jim doesn't listen btw, just that it doesn't matter if he does or doesn't.

Jim has done a pretty good job on running his sales and bringing a boatload of chips to this community in the past. Almost everyone on these boards has benefited from Jim's sales either directly or indirectly. I'm sure like any good businessman Jim listens to his customers, but I'm also pretty sure this ain't his first rodeo selling limited supplies of chips.

Trust me, I've gone down this road as well once upon a time. I've gone round and round more than once with Jim about chip percentage minimums on his sales. He's more than fair and it is impossible to please everybody so whatever way he chooses to run the sales will be as fair as can be done.

Point being Jim know what he's doing and he does it well. From past experience I found humor & some irony in all the comments. By all means suggest away.

:x

I suggest we run a "courage wins" raffle where I have my pick of a 2000 pc limit set or 1400 pc big bet set. mmmkaythxbye

Open, open, open....

Last week, "I have enough chips to last the rest of my life."

This week, "Finally, the chips I've needed my whole life!"

Does PayPal accept plasma, platelets or blood? Apple didn't have the foresight to include a device on my laptop for thrombocytapheresis. More like MacBookAmateur!

Open, open, open....

Native lights looks really nice, both seconday and primary. Pretty decent inlay and nice spots overall!

Maybe do a big raffle for the native lights secondaries? Break them up into some decent sized sets and make a huge raffle with a few hundred entries?

Jim,
I am very new here. Certainly my opinion is fairly selfish. However, the most limited chips should go up for an auction.

It's not fair for to have gone through all the work that is obviously involved and only think of what is fair to the collectors. Besides, some people will just resell the chips at a profit. Why not get your fair slice of the pie?.

This is not how you make a good first impression here.

Guys, I created a separate thread/poll where you can voice your opinion about what Jim should do with the chips!

As I have mentioned in another thread, it is probably not appropriate for people to start a poll for other people's affairs. If the vendor/seller/service provider wants to start a poll, he/she can do so himself/herself.

Post # 300 picks what jim does with his chips.
Post # 301 picks what jim is having for dinner!
I dont even want to what Jim has to do in post #302

Horrible idea.

If you put the rarest chips up for auction, then this limits their distribution to those with the financial means to outbid others on the forum. How is this fair?

And trying to tilt opinion in favor of your idea smacks heavily of someone who does have the means to outbid. Sounds 100% fishy to me.

I said I was selfish

I will remember how charitable some of you guys are with Jims chips when you are trying to sell some of your chips to me. ;)
