I retired this past Jan 2. My goal was to make 6 meetups a year. I actually budgeted them. So far I’ve made it to 3 with 4 more scheduled (5 when I add yours ). Retirement is great!

When I go to Boston every now and then for work I try to play poker at the Encore. I’ve been there about 5 times and coincidently have had the exact same guy at my table each time!! Last time we started talking and it turns out he is 62 and retired a couple years ago. He lives a few miles away and plays cards 3-4 days a week there. Also takes road trips with his buddies as his wife still works. Spends time woodworking and visiting his children

I thought “thats the life”. I could definitely do that and I want that to be now I’m 51 but doing my best to join you ASAP.

Congrats Leonard. Having the freedom to do anything you want, whenever you want is great.

Got packaged out last fall myself. Over 2750 staff have been let go, or packaged out in the last year from my school as huge deficits are looming.

Our long term president abruptly retired in January.

Today it was announced that he had walked away with a $3.8 m severance and the government fired the entire board of directors for mismanagement and appointed someone to run the place. LOL. Useless self-serving fucks got theirs. I am glad to have moved on from that shitshow.
