After cleaning, oiling, and scheduling, I am finally hosting my first home game tonight
What's the setup? Cash or tourney? Stakes? Starting stacks?
Gives us the scoop!!![]()
Combo no good?25 AND 50 chips.. NOOOOOOOO
Combo no good?
Combo no good?
The 50 is a waste. Totally unnecessary
I think the advice would in general be that you replaced the 1000 with 2 more 500s.So I read the other thread on how to map out a cash set and it mentioned that ideally, the denomination should increase about 4X-5X between chips.
So would this set be efficient?
$3,000.00
denomination (number of chips):
5(10)/25(10)/100(12)/500(1)/1000(1)
I'd go 10/10/7/6 for T5?T25/T100/T500 for a T3K starting stack. You can get T1000s for rebuys if you want.

I've seen this here a lot, and I do understand the why. But while this advice is great when you are picking out a new set of chips, or if you're playing with unmarked (no denomination) chips, what's the harm if you already have the $50s (or $10s) sitting there in your chip case? If you have them, why not use them?definitely no good.
25/100/500/1000/5000
Nothing? Really? I can think of a lot of things that are much worse!Nothing worse than playing in a game where the host has some generic set with stupid denoms and feels the need to use them just because.
Too many denoms at one time not only adds confusion to the players, but makes the bank worthless when it is time to color up. As a host you need to not only provide a good time that allows your players to focus on cards and fun and not denoms, but you need to make sure you don't lose your mind coloring up constantly for no other reason than "I like these chips". When everything serves a USEFUL purpose it makes everything go much more smoothly.Nothing? Really? I can think of a lot of things that are much worse!
I'm new here. I'm trying to learn. Enlighten me.

SparkyPlayer, you're a few months down the road from this post. Has pulling those chips out of your game made the game play any differently? Those pretty blue chips are just sitting there in your case all lonely, just longing to be touched.![]()
