Question to PCF: Dedicated Dealer Who Plays & Takes Tips? (2 Viewers)

Nope, cause is not a dedicated dealer if he also plays.....

In another hand, I have no problems on tipping a dealer in a cash game if the hands goes down till the 5th street, but I will not play if the tips are the only revenue ensured to a dedicated dealer. (i mean organizer must ensure a minimum wage)

if the guy was fast and accurate...

I don't like it when a player gets tips for dealing. Dedicated dealer only, sure, tip away. But I'm not tipping anyone who just check raise bluffed me 3 hands prior.

Yeah... this is my #1 gripe more so than possible collusion/cheating.

Thanks for the input everyone, I probably won't be going back to this game.

For a brief time I had a dedicated dealer (former casino dealer) who would deal and play. I gave her free drinks and food and the players took to tipping her themselves even though it was never discussed. No one seemed to mind but most of us play together often. However, I understand some of the arguments in this thread for why it's not an ideal situation. She was just so much faster than shared dealing and she kept the game moving nicely.

TLDR :D
If I had a dedicated dealer in my home game, in order to keep it un-raked (and to exclude any possibility of the dealer's intentionally and viciously dealing sanguinary hands), I 'd just pay him by the hour, dividing the cost to all players right from the start.
I might allow some elementary tipping at cash-out only.

I agree with most who had posted, I wouldn't like it. I might still play there if it is either a soft game, a fun group or preferably both.

I did play somewhat regularly in a game like this a few years back. It was run super shitty, by two friends who shared an apartment. Both of them would be the dedicated dealer of a table each and simultaneously play themselves, both tourneys and cash games. The cash games was honestly completely bonkers as they would rake the pots and put the rake directly into their own stack. It just felt so wrong. I still played there though, and never complained about it, as it was one of the softest games I have ever played in, and I think I never had a loosing session there.

Some games are worth playing in regardless. I don't mind playing in a game with shady shit going on if they're also giving away free money lol

And that is it. The dealers are losing players 3 out of 4x and do get felted on a more often basis. Good game.

There seems to be a lot of misplaced concern about a proper cut. It really doesn’t matter who cuts the cards as long as the cut is performed properly. A dedicated dealer should place the deck on the table behind the cut card and USE ONE HAND to cut the cards and place approximately half the deck on the cut card. Then, STILL USING ONE HAND place the remainder of the deck on top of cut half. If it’s done properly, there is very little chance of shenanigans.
