Hey everyone! I wanted to pose a question to this community because I’m not sure if this is okay or not, and I’ve always received awesome feedback from you all!

Just this past week, I had to sell my Aurora Star tournament set that I had just purchased due to a family incident. I also had to withdraw a big chunk of my bankroll for the same reason. However, I absolutely loved these chips, and I honestly think it might be the best tournament set ever made.

My question is, would it be wrong to try to purchase another set of the same chips down the road a bit while there are others who are looking as well? While there’s not much that I could do about it, I have a tremendous case of seller’s remorse, and I just wanted to get some feedback from you folks. I don’t regret selling them because it was my best course of action at the time, but it definitely stung a tad.

I would love to hear your thoughts either here or via PM. Thank you all so much for your time!

In a seriousnes, a lot of people buy and sell and buy (and sell) the same sets again and again.

This is a free and open market. You are free to buy and sell as you wish, as far as I know and think.

They are amazing chips. I know it. I can sympathize with your predicament. I hope you find more and continue on with your journey. You also helped a couple people fulfill chipping agendas, when you sold. It works both ways.

Ask @Jeevansluck about his pharaoh set that he bought back! Happens to us all!

Dam straight man! I still can't believe I have that set again. I'll make sure to hold them this time. The first time around, I let them go, I hadn't even used them. This ate at me like a cancer. Had to make myself whole again.

Just need to host poker. It's killing me. I can't see a day in the calendar year of 2020 where that will happen.

One time re-purchase is the limit. Then you must go back to dice chips and start over.

@detroitdad would have the biggest dice chip set ever!

I have owned Cleveland Horseshoes twice. It was the first casino in Cleveland, and even though I played with them a lot as live chips I don’t like chips that used in my collection. Don’t get me wrong, I would b ecstatic to play with them in any home game I go to, they are great chips. They just didn’t make the cut in my rotation.

The fact you are thinking it, is making it impossible to avoid said rabbit hole.

To be honest with you, considering the sets you have and the collection of rare beautiful chips you have amassed, this AS set would be quite easy for you to acquire. Not too deep a hole Infact. Wanted ads are answered in days it seems.

Dear @chipsncoffee,

Thank you for writing into Loveline for advice. For purposes of this column, we will refer to the Aurora Star tournament set as "Julie." It's common to have regrets and heartbreak after breaking up with someone and moving on in a relationship, even if you were one who initiated the break up with Julie.

Is it wrong to want Julie back in your life? No. But depending on the circumstances, much of this will be Julie's decision on whether she will accept you back in her life.

As you noted, Julie has other suitors. This means that you may need to pony up and go to extraordinary steps to convince her that you are better for her than the other suitors, if you want to get Julie back in your life.

Good luck with love and chipping.

Cash speaks my friend - if the set is for sale and you have the cash, why not? You never know man - you sold your set to help deal with a family emergency. You may be helping someone down the road with a similar problem when you buy them back!

I’ve owned PNY’s three times, ESST twice, Ritz twice, and trying to rebuild a Stardust set for the second time. I sold my Stardust set shortly after getting them as well, needed some quick cash at the time. It was stupid as they are very difficult to acquire, but sometimes that’s just part of chipping.

Hopefully this isn’t frowned upon, but I placed a preliminary ‘WTB’ ad in the classifieds for another set. Since I joined last October, I knew that these were the perfect tournament chips. Now that everything is settled on the homefront, I’m hoping to just speak with members who may be potentially willing to sell their set. I sincerely hope that this is not out of line.

I also want to thank all of you who have responded. I really love this community, and I hope that I am able to purchase another set.
