Poker Room Name (1 Viewer)

I'm struggling to name my poker/game room and came across this thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The room is a converted garage, so I've been playing with names like Garagio (Belagio), or maybe just "The Garage" and use the script and palm trees from the Mirage.

I did find a nice fountain of a dog peeing and got my wife's permission to install it and tell everyone it's the fountains at the Garagio.

Any other ideas? My dream chip set will be CPC on the B mold, but that is a little ways off from happening.

Agreed. I like the irony of Garagio.

Although saying it makes me think of Joe Garagiola.

I hadn't thought of that, but it makes it even better. I'm originally from the Pittsburgh area, and Joe did spend a couple years with the Pirates.

Hoyle Book Club is mine... Named after the road I live on, which happily has an added connotation for card players.

The “Book” part of the name came about when I created a private Facebook group for organizing and discussing our game... Again, a double entendre.

I figured some members might theoretically prefer to have an alibi if someone saw them on the page (“Oh, that... that’s just my reading group. We’re discussing Dostoevsky’s The Gambler next week.”) Then of course “book” has a gambling meaning as well. Though I absolutely never let anyone borrow from the house, i.e. no going on the sheet.

Bean Town Poker Room. Bean Town is just a nickname for Boston where I have lived just outside of my entire life. So I decided to pay a little homage to the home town and the sports teams that are bringing in all the trophies  :whistling:.

Mine is “Parris Luxury Resort and Casino Glasvegas”

Parris because that’s my surname.

Luxury resort and casino because we play in my kitchen using a folding table topper... about as far away from a luxury resort and casino as you can get.

Glasvegas after a daft newspaper headline from when the casino licence laws changed years ago and they thought we’d become the next Sin City. We now have a massive 5 casinos (6 if you include mine  :ROFLMAO: ).

I live in my university's residence halls. Gambling is against campus living policies.

Legend has it that a few years ago someone ran a small casino on the top floor of the dorm and called it "Sky Casino." I guess they all got in trouble by campus living.

Obviously we all refer to ourselves as "Sky Casino" now...

I live on a road with Bluff in the name. So I've named my basement as "the Bluff Game Room." It works for both the card aspect as well as the other games down there. I have some old coin-ops, arcade cabs I've made, darts, foosball, bubble hockey, stuff like that.

I finished a game room sign to hang on the wall a couple days ago. The LEDs don't show quite as well in the pictures with the flash as they do in person. They have a pretty cool glow to them especially in the red and orange tones against the wood.

Some names I'm considering after a solid 5 hours of brainstorming.

Bent River Poker Room - the section of the Mississippi I live on runs east to west. Borrowed the name from a local brewery. ;)

"Wrong Way River"....kinda double meaning....and not borrowing from anyone.

I like the Hawk's Nest

I lived in a picturesque beach community where you couldn't walk 10 feet without seeing a row of palms or hear the ocean crashing blocks away, so The Beach pretty much wrote itself once I got the basic graphic idea on paper.

Now I live in a small valley with not a lot of history, on a street name with no meaning and no theme, I graduated from a private college without a real meaningful mascot or sports team (so my school spirit never really caught), and my family/last name isn't fun or punny so the only option would be "the <name> cardroom". Blah.

Struggling to theme my way around my second set...

The Valley - play with valley in the name or a synonym (gorge, canyon, dell, vale, ravine....you could come up with something im sure

Matt's Garage - doesn't have to be fancy imo!

KOHLER CARDROOM

it's my last name, and I'm currently working on a toilet themed set of ceramics (....seriously).

I've been trying to come up with a good tagline/slogan for my Cardroom that combines toilets and poker. Any ideas?
