So my 8 m/o son refused to nap earlier today. Wife and I decided to go for a drive so he would fall asleep in the car. Ended up at Pechanga (Temecula, CA) and ran down to get a barrel of $1s.

The chips are beautiful and feel/sound great; just need to be cleaned up a bit. Does anyone know if these are Paulsons?

Nice! You just gave them a $20 and they handed them over?
Yep! It was actually the wife that went down, but she said she wasn't hassled at all. She even told them they were for a collection and asked if it that was ok.

So the ring around the exterior of the label has a gradient to it? That's not lighting?
Correct. It threw me off at first too.

Thanks for confirming guys! Here are some some after-cleaning pics. It really didn't take much other than some warm water and dish soap. Sorry, lighting isn't very great.

i don't own an Ultrasonic so I go with the toothbrush & bar soap method as well. I figure if Dove/ivory is ok for human skin, it can't hurt clay chips.
Those cleaned up beautifully @bentwookie2. Looks like u caught the chipping-bug at the right time, because this casino used to have Chipco ceramics :wtf:

@RichMahogany I need grab some reds next time I go. Those are nice too.

@CacheCreekCollector definitely!

How long's ur drive to this casino @bentwookie2? If these chips come from a recently introduced new batch, I would highly urge you harvest what chips u want now. Plenty of sharp edged chips to cherry pick from atm & at worst, once u no longer want/need these chips, u can redeem them for face value. Paulson chips are not normally a depreciating investment... just my 2 cents.

Also welcome to the forum, n congrats 2u and the Mrs. on your baby boy.

Thanks! Thats a good point. I'm only about a 15 minute drive, just not entirely sure what I want right now. I more-so just bought these to have some "real" chips on my desk to mess around with. There's just something about chips that I absolutely love.

I normally play Blackjack when I go to casinos (which is rare). Unfortunately, I don't host or play in poker games just yet. I definitely would like a nice set, but I don't have any friends that play. But I'm trying to change that and trying to get my family and friends to play.

I might get a rack of these, just to get started and because its so close and probably one of the cheaper options. I do have some of the hard plastic dunes (200), and some clay smith desert heat ones (also 200) I bought over the holidays.

I've got a few 6-player tourney starter sets of clay solids in the Classifieds if you're looking to get a small group introduced to tourney poker.
