PCF Tourney Chips (3 Viewers)

I'm just not a fan at all of a playable tournament set where each and every chip has a www. and/or a .com

Of course I understand where you're coming from... just doesn't do it for me

Yeah I agree also. It's the main reason why a stayed away from the Stardust cash set. If you want the website referenced, then order specific ones to hand-out/mail-out as "business cards", but otherwise consider removing the .com.

Very cool looking set. If you're planning on having the textured ceramic like the pcf chils IT should be really awesome.
i prefer woody.s design and love the terrible so rolling edge idea

I have to admit I'm in the camp that doesn't like the "www." and ".com" on the chip... I think the words PokerChipForum say it all.

Frankly, I'm incredibly opposed to the words "poker" and "chips" on poker chips - the only reason I think it's OK here is because it's for PCF. Otherwise, I'd hate them. And I can't abide "tournament" on tournament chips.

I also hate "chair" and "table" on my chairs and tables, and I hate "sign" on my signs. I'm just like that.

I know, I'm a problem.

Also not a big fan of www or .com - usually seems unnecessary, as in this case.

On a related note, I also hate the gaudy and self-serving PAULSON CHIPS mold. They should be paying ME billboard advertising rates to use those chips in any game with prospective buyers. For the same reason, I don't let automobile dealerships put their logo on my car, either. You want to rent the space, we'll talk. Otherwise, get that shit off my trunk lid.

However, tournament chips that say 'tournament' makes sense, at least if it's a casino. Casino cash checks are totally different instruments than casino tournament chips, and it's in their best interest to differentiate between the two.

I agree with dumping the www, but I would keep the .com. It is a website you are advertising, not a poker room called the Poker Chip Forum.

As for BGinGA's dislike of the dealer logo, I agree. They took $250 off the price of my truck to have it on there when I left the lot.

Playing around a little more,
top row added the suites and matching color, 2nd row solid design
test mockupAB.jpg

Looking good. We should try the denoms all the same color??

Getting better and better!! I still lean towards the solids... I liked the PCF in white better and really liked the "PCF watermark" in the background... For the yellow and orange chips, I believe "Tournament" was better readable in black, the other three chips are great in white... For this particular design, I believe denoms color matched work way better... Great job guys!

Suits are too busy, and really add nothing special to the design (just makes the rest of the artwork smaller).

The only color I would add behind the PCF text is the base chip color -- essentially making the top text arc resemble a 'horseshoe'.

Color matched fonts work better here. Although I like the suits, I agree that the plain chips is better, especially on the T5000.

I also prefer the color-matched denoms on these.

When i look at them from a distance, they look like different colors. When I look at the set with all-red denoms from a distance, they all look like "red denom" chips, and the actual base color is secondary.

One more try adding color using suits and color matching text and/or denominations.

Oops, meant to include this one as well where PCF tournament is not color matched.

Denoms the same color/gradient as the T100 on both versions?

Yes, both T100 should have the same color/gradient - I don't think I made any changes to the color/gradient when I created the bottom version.

or do you want to see all the denoms with the same color/gradient as the T100?

What do you think of adding a thin black (or dark gold) border around gold horseshoe/banner on the T1000? I think the gold banner gets lost on the yellow, and it make the T1000 look like it has a different "theme" than the others.

Referencing the bottow row:

I like nomad's idea of adding an outline to the 'horseshoe', which would greatly benefit the yellow chip -- that, or make the yellow chip a lighter shade, or slightly darken the horseshoes. Needs more contrast.

I'm also bugged by the black PCF and 'tournament' text on the yellow and orange chips. Add a dark outline to the white PCF and 'tournament' text and use it across the board.

I like the consistent denomination treatment, but I also liked the color-matched denoms as well.

I also like the thought of adding an outline to the "horseshoe" affect.
I actually really like the yellow and orange chips with the black text.

Really. How many damn tournament sets do you need, Tommy?

You have been giving your input with the design (post #8,25,34,40,51), now your asking me how many tourney sets do I need.
Who is this?

I like it but what do you think about making the inner outline thicker like the T100?

That's an optical illusion, created by the black outline around the horseshoes. It only looks thicker on the T100 because the chip base is black.

Obv fix is obv..... make the black chip charcoal.
