Yes, it is awesome in a sense, but I am conflicted about it.
For some time, I've been pissed when I see a CT/PCF member buy chips in quantity from the Chip Room, etc., and then part out the high-value chips at single-chip prices on
eBay. There are several people who do this all the time. In the case of small volume chips, this eventually makes it impossible to assemble playable sets of original chips.
To some degree, I suppose this is a natural tension between set collectors/players and individual chip collectors. It might be inevitable, as scarce chips climb in value -- but it still rankles.
I'm under the impression that most of us, rather than being collectors of single chips, are set builders -- we value playable sets of scarce chips above all else, and would prefer to not see scarce sets broken up and sold piecemeal, or in less than rack/stack quantities for the purpose of fashioning playable sets. Maybe I'm mistaken in that belief, but I know that when I do start selling off my modest collection, I will not do it that way.
In any event, I'll enter this giveaway, but I'll state here that should I get lucky and win it, I'll give the chip to another PCFer with a playable set of Vineyards in which this chip would be useful.
