Yeah..."very light" is more misleading than the "Paulson" being in the name. Many RHC chips out there come in at 8.5g.
I really wish they would have rolled these chips out with some name other than "Paulson Elites". Agreed they are not Paulson brand, but I'd have to think that to nearly the entire population the differences other than the mold wouldn't be noticed. The drama that having "Paulson" in the name has created takes away from what is otherwise the best current home game chip out there.
The weight is similar, the sound and feel are similar (not identical, but so damn close it isn't worth bringing up) and they play awesome. At 1/4 to 1/3 the price of a comparable Paulson set the value can't be argued. And let's be honest, even at what they are going for, they are still a luxury item.
IF you are OK with the all white spots and the artwork is appealing to you, these are your chips. I would rather have a set of the Elites than any chip with the "Paulson Chips" mold. With the exception being that I could flip the 'Paulson Chips' mold chips for more money and buy an even bigger set of the Elites with it.
Full disclosure, I have a 1200 chip set of these and love them. However, my Elites make up about 10% of my entire collection which are all Paulson, Bud Jones or CPC.
