Why?Reserve auctions on things like this are just silly.
Setting the starting price to your minimum reserve would accomplish the same thing. I guess the idea behind it is to instigate a bidding war, but if just one or two people have bid, they're probably not going to bid themselves up to the minimum reserve price unless they REALLY want the item. Why?
I'll see if I can find them
The problem with a reserve auction is that it takes two bidders with a number over the reserve for the auction to end in a win, I believe. If auction reserve is 100 and second highest bid is 90, then even if the proxy bid was 250, the price would go to 90 + the increment and = no sale. A reserve price auction will have no impact on a bidder who implements a sniper program or bids at the bell.
Bidding wars are silly too. Set your highest price in mind, set your snipe to that price. If you win, you'll get it for the lowest possible price instead of driving it up.
Since they're live chips, no one's going to sell them for less than face value.
I have two racks, harvested the week the casino opened by simply going up to the cage and asking for them (documented on CT at the time, with pics), if anyone needs more than the rack on Deezer's auction -- I'll see if I can find them.
Will the cage do this for anyone? I really like the Cosmo chip colors.
It's the cage's job to sell chips, else how would you be able to play?
You can ask for any amount of chips as long as you hand over the cash (though they'll probably frown if you ask for 2,000 $1 chips...)
I always buy in at the tables <shrug>
