50% weller a107, 50% weller 12 yr
I don't think I could bring myself to blend 107. It's so damn good by itself. And so is W12
But now that I think about it, I suppose I could do 1/2 oz of each as an experiment. For science!

Do I need to mix and set aside for the flavors to meld, or can I drink it right away?

When I did the poor man pappy mix I did 3 parts 107 and 2 parts 12 year and let it sit for a week. It was delicious!

I don't ever do it, but my palate loves champagne and I could drink gallons of it. The only kind I've never tried that I would like to is Pol Roger, Sir Winston Churchill's daily drinker. Tonight is a Bollinger night, damn tasty, and one of James Bond's bottles of choice if I remember right.

Stumbled into what I initially thought was a tailor shop in Taipei, but turned out to be a cool little bar. The main bartender spent some time at Balvenie and had a nice selection. We mostly stuck to cocktails but I had this lovely DoubleWood neck pour one after dinner. Quite the bargain as well- a round of 3 fancy cocktails and this was under $40.

I just finished my bottle and bought two 200ml bottles which end up cheaper than half the 750. Also great size to take to a game and fishing without leaving half a bottle

I saw this on the shelf but grabbed my go to wtrb bourbon. Is the rye as good as the bourbon? I no longer buy without a recommendation.
If you can find it near msrp (~$10 more than the bourbon) it's a great bottle. I wouldn't quite say "as good as wtrb bourbon", but it's a very good rye that I always try to have stocked. For a while they were hard to find around here for under like $90, and for that price I typically passed, but they seem to be a little more available near msrp nowadays around by me.

I have a lead on some unicorns, but at spendy pricing.
THH at $499
Van Winkle Family Rye $799.

15% discount if I buy both.

Thoughts?

Not familiar with secondary pricing for those bottles, but in general, for a special occasion bottle of something you really want (and know you’ll love)? I say why not.
