Just stumbled upon what counts as a “Dusty” in Brooklyn…a Kentucky Owl Batch 2 for $169.

A bit all over the place and unrefined which is no surprise given the 4 year age statement, but not bad and tons of flavor here. Confirms that one day I need to find one of the higher aged purple tops.

Want to stock up before the holidays and meetup in January. Help me pick 3 or 4 bottles!

Have these on the list of "haven't tried before" as well as the new Bomberger's (not shown). Thoughts?

As a Canadian, you must get Alberta Premium.

Gold Spot is very good depending on price. And the Balboa from New Riff.

The balboa is great, everyone always likes it.

I love the Star Hill Farm

2025 Bombergers might be my favorite whiskey I’ve had the last couple months. And every friend has been quite impressed by it

Don’t know if it holds true for the bourbon, but the 6 yr Willet rye I had was light years ahead of the 4 yr.

I did end up buying this. They had an additional 10% markdown, so I was out the door for $92. Pleased with that, and pleased when I tried it as well.

First impression on the nose is brisket on the smoker. Yeah, Bar-B-Que in a bottle! I'm not good at describing palette, but there's some ash, in a good way, and a nice solid finish. My first Islay scotch, and my first cask strength scotch is a definite success.

Cask strength Caol Ila is sublime! Great intro to cask strength Islay! Great choice :cool

I'm going to get some beer/whisky cross posting in tonight. Wish this expression of HP was still available. Age/Price at a good point when this was out. Much milder than Islays heavies, but with a pleasing richness.

@TX_Golf_N_Poker CI is brilliant across the board but CS makes it sing. That said I can think of 3 Islays that would easily give all of that and more.
