It's very good, I'd say its borderline worth $150, especially considering the 14 is usually less than $100. I don't regret paying that for my bottle, and came close to grabbing another. $120-$130 would be a slam dunk.
Thanks. Something like this is not a regular purchase for me. I've been wanting one special bottle of scotch for a while. I was going to get Tamdhu 18 or something similar, but then saw this and remembered looking for it a couple months ago. Plus cask strength is a plus.

Snap buy then

As far as I know, the Tamdhu 18 should be a fantastic Whisky.... But: even that its better than the Tamdhu 15, it's not that much better to justify its price that comes 2x the price of the 15. I bought a bottle of the Tamdhu 15 for 82€ and the Tamdhu 18 is listed for over 160€. But I can say that in the moment I had my first sip of the Tamdhu 15 I instantly thought "damn its awesome, I whish I had brought more than just one bottle"

I was very happy to find a sampler here in the US with 50ml bottles of the 12, 15 and 18 for $20. I posted about it a week or so ago. I thought the 18 was noticeably better than the 15, which was also very good. I think the prices at my local Total Wine were $119 (on a markdown) for the 15 and $199 for the 18. As I stated, I was looking for that one special bottle, and my price limit was about $200, so I wasn't worried about trying to save money on something almost as good.

EDIT: Seems like a good excuse to ask everyone what their personal top whiskys of the year were.
I haven't drank much. I'm obsessed with sherry finished whisky right now. I could drink gallons of Sagamore Sherry Finish and still want more. I'm hoping to score two bottles of the New Riff 2025 sherry finish release, as it just dropped. If I drank some, I'm positive it would be my whisky of the year.

Yama18 is my sherry bomb

I didn't buy a ton this year (0 for 10 so far on the WA list  :ROFLMAO:, but I did try to find the Drumshanbo), but these were some of my favorites:
  1. Knob Creek 21
  2. New Louisville Whiskey Co. Rye 9 yr
  3. Oban 15
  4. ECBP B525
  5. APW 15 year Batch 3A
  6. Penelope Cigar Sessions - Chapter 1

I didn't know Drumshanbo made whisky. I love their gin.
