Of all the standard distillery bottlings, one of the very best ever, IMO.View attachment 1573361No clue why I waited so long to try this one. I can easily see why this one here is a favorite of quite a few here!

This is good to see. I bought the 8 a long time ago, and haven't even cracked it yet. I guess I need to find an opportunity.I like that bottle more than the 9 and 10 year.
And the verdict is?

My nightcap last night. I had a taster of this several weeks ago at my local watering hold and bought a bottle knowing it would probably sell out PDQ (which it did). I had a pour right away, but put it aside as I really needed to kill a bunch of bottles with only a pour left before I could justify having yet another open bottle floating about.
I had forgotten how lovely a pour this is in that time. I've never been good at making tasting notes, but I can say this is an easy drinker at 100 proof with a bunch of subtle complexity that lingers on the palate for a bit.
It's not the first that I've had from Dark Arts, but easily my favorite of the few I've had from them.

As much as I hate to see this one go, since it’s not an easy one to find around here, I need the room for some incoming acquisitions.
What did you think? I can't seem to get into this one. It seems to drink really hot to me for a 100 proof bottle. I remember it took me a couple of years before I finally found this on a shelf, and I had to overpay for it. Now I can find it on the shelf all the time at about $65, but I don't bother.View attachment 1575891
Finally cracking this after being sick the past couple weeks. First time trying KC12 - looking forward to it.
I'm still developing my bourbon palate, but I too was a bit surprised by hot much cinnamon/spice and oak this one brought (though there seemed to be a lot of vanilla and cherry on the palate too). I found it pretty astringent vs. other bourbons I have too. I liked it though. I'll definitely have to go back to it again and compare it with some other pours. What did you think? What’s an appropriate time to start drinking? It’s

I just killed my EC18 back in August. Shared it with some appreciative guests at my daughter’s 21st birthday party. I did set aside a nice 2oz sample
