The barrel proofs in general have been easy to find, but I don't know how different each releases yield is. With a nearly 14-year batch, I would expect the number of bottles to be fewer.If you find a hoard I’ll take three plz
With that said, my whiskey fairy said that this was only the first shipment to hit her store, and there's definitely a second shipment of them coming. That gives me hope that people should be able to find them in the wild at retail prices.

I would definitely say that this bottle is not for someone new to barrel proof. It's for those who have been into high proof whiskeys for a while and who really like the subtle differences in the Elijah Craig BP series.

I got to play some board games at a friend's house today. He had some Russell's Reserve Rye, just the standard 6-year bottle. (Not a store pick or single barrel.)
It was very ethanol heavy, and pretty much not good. Do not recommend. Crossing my fingers that the unopened single barrel RRRye I have is better than this.

Thinking ahead to cooler weather and want to get an advent calendar of scotch/bourbon this year. I did a beer one last year and while I enjoy it I much prefer whiskey near the holidays. Any suggestions on where I can buy one online and get it shipped to the house (Mississippi)? The Peaty box by Drinks of the Dram looks interesting, but they don't ship to the US anymore.

IIRC, wine and beer advent calendars are pretty easy to find delivered to the USA. Whiskey is much tougher. I once had a mild entrepreneurial thought to create one, but decided the risk was too high for the reward.
