Official Fit Competition (Sept 7 - Nov 30) (7 Viewers)

Well... weighed in a bit late this week with going to Ohio and the meet up. Not claiming to have eaten the best, had a few carbs and a delicious burger and sweet potatoe fries... again I don't care it was fantastic!! Thank You very much @Beakertwang for picking up that tab! Only ate twice a day, avoided all temptations to drink beer and literally piles of candy at the event! Pretty damn happy record a nice 6 pound loss for the last week. Would have been happy with a flat! Down to 238 from 278... 2 more pounds is 5 gallons of water!!

Hope you all had great weigh ins this week!

Ben

Omg i'm shocked.....

I'm not the only one  :ROFLMAO: I really need to remove the scales from my house.
I think we all do that brother! Hahaha

Just like the initial weigh in is in socks and undies... every one after that, ole willy is looking right at the scale with me! No need for an extra 2 oz. Of clothes for a weigh in!! Lmao

Last week was the first where life really got in the way and I struggled to fit workouts in. I still managed 5 out of the 7 days though and tried to make up for it by cutting calories even tighter on the days I couldn't fit one in. Based on the 2-3lbs I lost it looks like I still managed to hit my target 10,000 calorie deficit for the week so I'm calling it a win. Definitely not happy about losing my #2 spot to @dmoney though so I'll be coming for you this week sir!

We have been going back and forth! I even did some math to try and figure out your body weight...I don't think anyone is catching @Ben8257 for pounds lost, so the battle is on for percentage! And if my math is right, I think I've got the advantage as I've got plenty more weight to lose than you that is likely to come off with diet and exercise.

And @BarrieJ3 is the list of bounties/prizes complete? Is anyone throwing in $ instead of/in addition to their prize? That has been motivating for me, as has the awesome offer from @Frogzilla!

I am perfectly happy with 3rd place... or any place that I can keep my bounty. I am just happy to loose some weight with you guys!! Some if those bounties are very appealing but I know what it takes for you guys to put those up and would hurt to see them go! As I have said since the beginning... I just want to keep mine and look good in Florida in a bikini!! Lmao ok... that last part is never going to be good!!

I still cant figure out how to view the overall graph for everyone

Lol...I never posted it because at some point I was just told to PM it in...but I have no issue putting it out there. Started at 247...226 this past Monday.

So yeah...I believe you've got a few extra pounds to work with...but I'm up for the challenge!

I've been shooting for a 10k cal deficit each week (an hour of cardio plus 1k cut from diet each day). That's putting me around 1500cal/day consumed so not much more I can do there. That means this week cardio goes longer...I want #2 back!!:)!!

Damn I'm over here celebrating 40 pounds gone... and just now down to your starting weight!! I am such a fat ass!! Lol Congratulations on the 20 lbs gone brother!! Shoot for #1 man I don't need it!! Just happy to get some of the weight off!

I started at 278 and am down to 256 as of this morning. Down 22lbs and 8.5% of body weight!
Dang brother we started at the same weight!! Feeling better already right? Man!! When this is over we gotta get together for Pizzas, burgers, tacos and beer!! Oh wait... that's how we got here!! Dieting sucks!!

100% feeling better - the stretching has definitely been the most beneficial. But being winded after going upstairs is something I'm happy to have in the rear-view. I played football in college (offensive line) so I've been heavier than 278 in my life but "that" 278 was probably the least fit I've ever been.

You've lost FORTY fucking pounds? Holy crap Ben! That's amazing. Wow.

I wonder if bens #s at the halfway point (coming Sunday) are good enough to win the entire competition on 11/30

I hope not! Like I said man I will take last place doesn't matter to me, I'm not going hard like I was at the beginning but still going to try for 220 by the end and possibly 200 before SQM but who knows if I will make it!

I tried to get out last night to go shoot some hoops after dinner, no dice. I started this hoping it would me carve out some time, but the only exercise I might get is doing jumping jacks while washing dishes or up downs while writing emails.

Hopefully it settles down soon, I like exercising normally even when I'm not losing weight (because I eat so horrible in comparison). Lol I told my wife maybe I'll just wake up before you and go for a run (she gets up at like 4 for conference calls).

Shoot for #1 man I don't need it!!
LOL...I'd love #1 but something tells me my wife wouldn't be entertained if I explained I had to bump up to a 30,000 calorie deficit per week to win some poker stuff. "Honey...it's only 40 hours of exercise a week and you said you like spending time with the kids anyway...right?".

I was doing some estimating and I’d be willing to bet we’ve already collectively lost a person’s worth of weight! Pretty crazy!

The top half of our active participants have each lost 5% or more already! For anyone still below 5%...that means 5% is absolutely still possible by the end for you too! Think of how great that’d be! Let’s get it on!!

Hey @timinater i noticed something today with my weigh in. I’m at 214.1 from 236 which is 21.9 lb down, but surprisingly I’m showing already more than 10%. 10% of 236 is 23.6 so maybe it’s using the lower after weight?

And I guess this is fine methodology if it’s the same for everyone, but would give me an advantage if I get to use my lower new weight as the denominator but some folks have to use starting. Just letting you know in interest of fairness, maybe you can confirm when you have time that everything is consistent

@Frogzilla You are correct, though everyone has the same calculation which is ((Original/Current)-1). So I guess we're actually measuring the difference in how much you weigh in relation to your starting weight which is not the same as % lost.

In your example it would be the difference of:

(236/214.1)-1 = 10.22% lower weight OR
(21.9/236) = 9.28 % weight loss.

I'm happy to change the calculation to be in line with what the rules are. @BarrieJ3 what do you figure?

We are halfway there by my count. Folks, this below is long, but I think it’s well worth it. It’s a 45 min talk about how one can adhere to the plan they set out for themselves. It’s from a lifting perspective but the same principles apply to just about anything that requires consistent commitment.

Give it a listen if you find spare time

Does it explain how to get you and @dmoney off my back in the fight for second? If so, I’m in!:)! I stepped it up to 12hrs of cardio this past week with consumption still around 1500 cal/day...I refuse to make this easy on you two!!!

To those in the upper-middle: KEEP IT UP!!!

To those in the lower half at this point...I’ll say what I said earlier...another 5 or 6 weeks is a TON of time!! 1-2lbs/week can get you down around 10lbs more by the end! Schedule a single workout this week. Make a conscious effort to skip one or two snacks/beers each day. It adds up! I’d still love to see everyone over 5% at the end...especially you @BarrieJ3 !

Awesome week @DZPoker! Great job! I also ramped up my average cardio session this week and plan to keep increasing as we hit the final stretch. I'm also planning to resume lifting free weights after taking a few weeks off with a pulled muscle in my neck.

@BarrieJ3 is there an updated/complete list of all the prizes/bounties?

Keep it going, everyone!
