Alright folks here we are! If I have everyone right, we're looking at 20 awesome participants!

1. If everyone can, in our PMs, jump up on a scale and get your starting weight over! As mentioned, for starting and ending wait only, we're hoping that folks can send a picture over (not of you, just the scale!), just to make everyone feels at ease and that noone is sandbagging or pulling the wool over our eyes. Starting number will be confirmed and picture immediately deleted.

(Please be cool, don't wear your steel toed boots and trenchcoat to weigh in, and your birthday suit to weigh out. It's a "competition", but it's more so an awesome group for help and accountability)

2. Everyone will be receiving a link to their personal forms by Monday night. It will look just like below, except with your name. Whenever you want through the 3 months, feel free to check in and the data will automatically compile in a nice little dashboard to show everyone's progress. I'm sure we're all excited to see what we can do as a group by Month 1, Month 2, etc.

3. At the end of 3 months, everyone will place 1st - 20th in total weight lost, and 1st - 20th in % weight lost. Those two numbers will be averaged, and that will be your final positioning. If you were 4th in weight lost, and 8th in %, you'd be 6th overall. In the case of a tie, total weight lost will be the deciding factor.

4. Antes - we have 20 folks participating, 20 antes. Using a linear draft (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 1st, 2nd, etc.), the Top 5 Finishers will keep their antes and choose from the prize pool in the following amounts:

1st - 5
2nd - 3
3rd - 2
4th - 2
5th - 1

With them keeping their antes, that leaves 2 up for grabs. At the conclusion, we'll have one given out to a winner of a predetermined but unpublished part of the competition, and the last will go to a participant decided by a vote from all of us (I obviously can win neither). This is being done to keep everyone engaged. The hope is that we're all able to tighten up and get back to some better habits, but we have multiple folks just looking to drop 15 pounds, and others just looking to be a bit more active. We're happy to have them join, and want to keep them in the running for some prizes!

Once you have your ante figured out, shoot me a picture! Post #2 in this thread will contain everything that's up for grabs!

A beyond awesome gesture for anyone needing added incentive. Let's get after it!
Desjgn setup shipped (you pick style) for everyone who
1) completes 12 weeks
2) ends at least 10% down from starting point

So don’t give up around Halloween even if you’re well outside the top 5

Best of luck everyone! This thread is here for everyone to share whats working, whats not, how much that hill sucked at the end of the run, how much more energy you have after week 1, how ridiculously sore your arms are, and how little of a deal it was to switch from jack and coke to jack and diet.

I wish everyone the best of luck, and I mean that truly. We have a great group of folks, literally with several people who desperately need this, and others who don't want to reach that point, just needing some motivation to get out for that nightly walk.

Enjoy the your holiday Monday! We've had a couple folks already out for their first walk, hike, run, or ride. Let's get down to work, and I'll see you on November 30th!

Good luck all...I’m on the back side of my own personal Covid project...I’m down 15% of my body weight and my goal is to lose 25%. So I’ll be 3/4 Jeff the next time I see most of you.

Good luck to all involved.

I should have abs again by early November so maybe I'll post them for motivation  :ROFLMAO:.

In the meantime I'm gorging on cake on holiday for the next two weeks. So it could equally be a keg photo too.

I'm not part of this competition but I'm down 17lbs (my starting weight was 186, today I weigh 169) since June by intermittent fasting. I also had a problem with overeating every meal to the point where I'd make myself sick. I've also cut back on sugary drinks like soda, juice, iced tea etc and increased my water intake. But when I have a soda it's coke zero and it's mixed with Captain Morgan :D

my goal is 155-160 by December

Yup, I'm somewhat in the same boat. I'm down 30 lbs since Covid started and I've been much more active. Plateaued somewhat so the additional motivation of not losing my ante will hopefully put the spurs to me as it were.

Bad beat today. Went out running a few hours ago and can barely walk on left heel. Seems to be plantar fasciitis and google says that’s a few weeks minimum no impact. Cycling it is

Had that around this time last year. It was brutal but if I 'warmed up and got it loose' it felt much better.

I do a lot of trail hiking and proper footwear is so important, especially if you are on the heavier side and so are putting a lot more strain on those bits.

My starting weight doesn't have to be deleted!

No sand bags just my ridiculous overweight self socks and undies!! Lol

And after thinking about what to offer up. This sample brought me to PCF... other than my P+P chips which were a gift and can not be given up. These are my second favorite so...

Complete sample with the bounty chip! You guys said something I don't want to loose. These are my babies!! Ultimate sample for any Bond fan!!

Birthday weekend is over!! Time to get serious!!

Anyone that has this sample already we can find something else if necessary. Ben

Thanks so much for putting this all together! I'll get a starting photo in the morning. Just finished a labor day bonanza and don't want to unfairly 'tip the scales' LOL

And damn, I had pulled some chips to do as an ante, but now I think I need to up it! That's some serious incentive there!

My starting weight: 158

Will wait to recieve PM from Jeff for the graph info

Had some great motivation this weekend to bulk up on burgers and beer, thanks PCF Fit Competition ! :tup:View attachment 528747

Now let’s DO THIS!!!!
Tom you need to eat some brother and gain some weight before getting in this! Unless you are 5 ft tall... I doubt it! The bulk up thread should be getting started any day by @Perthmike!! Lol

Go see a podiatrist and get a steroid shot. I had it over six months and that was my only relief.

I still have to figure out my donation to the winner.
Start: 305
Goal: Less than 305

You know what's awesome about big round numbers? Hitting less than 300 should be resonable! I have noticed with covid many if us are carrying a few more pounds than we are comfortable with!! I'm one of those, I am going to be bad till New Years and then hit it hard guys. When @BarrieJ3 brought it up... I was like man, this isn't my time of year for trying! But the scale told me otherwise!! Happy to get this thing going this week!! I will most likely be donating my sample as well, but if it gives me some inspiration to get even some of the weight off. Then it's all worth while!!

Always your chippin buddy Black Beard!!

Those of you that don't have any back issues, I'd really recommend adding a healthy dose of weight training into your program and eating a reasonable amount of food still, so long as you are still in a caloric deficit.

Adding muscle will increase your basal metabolic rate and is really a much better long term strategy than starving yourself and "dieting" for a short period.

Don't buy crappy packaged food that say 50% less sugar or fat or any of that crap. Just eat plenty of whole foods.

My back is broken in 2 places Mike, personally I am one for the lean club rather than muscle building. This is about circa 2010

No gym access for me yet, so far here’s what I’ve managed to scrape together for a circuit around the house. If anyone else wants to do this all you need is a set of dumbells and one of those door frame pull-up bars (they’re cheap)

-pushups
-chinups
-dumbbell shoulder press
-curls
-dumbbell squats
-dumbbell lunges
-misc ab shit

Anything you’d add? I’ve done it a couple times and felt like I hit most of the majors, and more or less balanced

Well I did qualify it my saying no back issues lol, but you should still be able to do some resistance training safely. There are plenty of good bodyweight exercises. Mixing it up keeps it fun anyway.
