EDIT: Nuked as the crickets were just too loud! I've changed up on a few things so will likely repost with those details soon and hopefully get a few 2 cents on the new one. Can a mod. lock this thread please?
I want to try out a T100 tournament, but I'm not sure what a good starting stack would be. 9 players, but it wouldn't hurt if 10 could be supported. No rebuys for this first round, but would eventually like a breakdown that can support them.
It feels like 10K is a perfect number, but is 50 BB enough? Should I try to juice it up to 20K?
Looking for something around 3.5 to 4 hours without breaks.
I have 2 chip sets available for use on a breakdown. Both are junk dicers as I'm going to be demoing some nice chips soon and looking to upgrade. Please don't judge!
Chip set A:
200 white
140 red
100 blue
100 green
60 black
Chip set B:
80 white
80 red
80 blue
80 green
80 black
I've heard for a 20K this is good breakdown: 10/8/10/1, T100/T500/T1000/T5000. If doing a 10K, do you just drop 5 of the T1000s and the T5000, so 10/8/5?
Some context may be helpful...a social game, small buy-in, lots of newbies, cocktails. I would like people to have a decent amount of chips at the start...just feels cooler!
Also, breaks - how often do you have them, and how long are they? Also, when do you color up and what chips do you remove?
For a blind structure, I want something like these....

Thank you for any input into breakdowns etc. in the tournament!
