We have officially worked through our backlog of orders.
The queue is dead!
(Long live the waitlist...)

What to expect moving forward:

Timing depends a lot on what kind of labels you are ordering, if you are using our artwork or supplying your own, and when in the week you are reaching out.
As of today, my standard timing quote is 2 weeks or less.
  • What takes up to 2 weeks?
    • Custom artwork with color matching elements with lamination.
  • What takes less?
    • Labels that you have seen before; for example, in our Testimonials thread.
    • Add on to label jobs you have had printed with us in the past.
    • Matte Unlaminated labels, of artwork we have printed before and are meant for over labelling chips we have color matched in the past.

Timing depends a lot on when the chips are in our hands, as that is a committed order. There are lots of orders that reach out with intent but have not committed the chips by sending them to us. (Currently we have 2000+ chips booked, but not yet shipped to us, from as far back as April) I will quote you wait times based on committed chips in hand.
Essentially we are down to first come first served when it comes to inlay remove and replace.
As of today, my quote would be around the 6 week mark before we could begin the work of removing the labels from your chips.

But that quote would come with a clearly communicated caveat that this depends on pending orders and chips on hand.
I won't give a concrete timing quote until I let you know your chips have arrived.

Timing depends a lot on when the chips are in our hands, as that is a committed order. There are lots of orders that reach out with intent but have not committed the chips by sending them to us. (Currently we have 500+ chips booked, but not yet shipped to us) I will quote you wait times based on committed chips in hand. Essentially we are down to first come first served on this service as well.
As of today, my quote would be as soon as they are received we could begin working on them.
But that quote would come with a clearly communicated caveat that this depends on pending orders and chips on hand.

THE FINE PRINT
All of these wait times are subject to getting us all the information/samples requested.

We have more than a few jobs "on hold at the top of the queue" pending artwork, target chip identification, sample chips for size and color.
  • If we ask for a sample chip for sizing or color, the wait time will be based on the sample arrival.
  • If you have to decide on and identify a target chip, wait time is based on when you get that required information to us.
  • If you want custom artwork and have not supplied it when you first reached out, wait time is based on when you get those files to us.
All of these wait times are subject to change.
The best reasons for extending wait times...Meetups!
We take time off to go to meetups whenever we can.
That increases wait times, but also increases your chances of getting an in-person delivery. I will always say as much in any given timing estimate.
The not so best reasons are that life happens, and we need to slow down or pause to take care of ourselves or our family.

It all boils down to the fact we are a tiny business.
Just a single artisan with 20+ years of printing/pre-press knowledge applying it to his passion.
And as such, the unavoidable can come up to extend any quoted wait time.
We commit to clear and timely communication if this is the case.

File this under one of the not so fun reasons wait times get longer.

CANADA POST IS ON STRIKE

If you have chips en route to us via USPS this will effect delivery time.
If you are planning on sending us chips, use a private carrier or wait until job action has ended. (see our Shipping FAQ)

If we are completing your job during this job action we are:
  • Upgrading what we can to the least expensive private carrier for your region.
  • Giving you options for how you want to proceed if the cost is prohibitively different.
