New Tourney Chips at Wynn and WPT (1 Viewer)

Last year WPT Wynn I only remember seeing the final event having CHIPCO WPT branded chips. Looks like this year WYNN has some chipco chips in addition using their housemold tourney chips too…

^ Those were not there last year, and if I remember correctly they didn’t have any Wynn branding just WPT.

These are the chips I only remember them using last year during the championship.

Maybe they did bring them out earlier but I don’t remember…

Otherwise they have 2 house mold Paulson tourney chips + now appears another Wynn chipco set

Wynn must be Chipco's only customer. I honestly thought they went out of business. Their chips wouldn't be all that bad for a home game, but not only do they look like crap, they wear like crap in a casino environment. No casino operator that has been around is ordering those things except maybe to use in a one time or very occasional tournament

Yeah idk who ordered them. Last year it was the WPT provided championship set. This year looks to be an additional Wynn tourney house set.

The poker director there does a good job. He uses the same acrylic button vendor as @justincarothers and no casino runs tournaments better.

Yeah the new trend of coloring up so that there is only like 80 chips left in play at the end of major tournaments drives me nuts. I’m not saying each player should have like 100 barrels of small denom chips in front of them, but accumulating a large stack is part of the thrill of tournaments and its better visually for casual fans watching on tv too imo.

WSOP Bahamas is trying to compete against Wynn WPT, and dunno about the other factors, but they absolutely crushed them in the ceramic chip sets

Those palm tree ones are pretty cool. That’s a great example of taking full advantage of what a ceramic can do and not just mimicking edge spots.

lol and it was crazy they didn’t offer a day 1 on Saturday. I expect 1 re-entry allowed per day like the prime and a Day 1 on Saturday next year.

I recommend EVERYONE to spend more time at the Wynn during the summer as well. Their operation is so much better than WSOP.

This 100%! I will be doing more Summer Classic events than WSOP in ‘24.

I played 2021 and it was small, and in the Encore sports book. And it was fantastic. Haven’t made it up there since unfortunately. Is it still in the sports book? Or is it in the ballroom like for WPT?

Same spot.

They haven’t utilized the ballrooms in the summer…yet. I wouldn’t call it “small”, but you’re right, they clear out all the slots and Sportsbook seats and it goes the entire length of Encore.

This last summer mystery bounty had 3,006 entries @ $2200 vs last weeks WPT bounty 3,432 entries @ $1600. Almost Identical prize pool.
