Well, I decided to go down that road again and build a new gaming PC. I feel the need to play DayZ again and some GTA V with some of the custom PC mods. Neither of my Lenovo T series laptops can handle these games without heat issues and throttling.

So far I only bought the case. I settled on the CM Elite 130.

Planning to buy...

i5-6600k (Maybe i7-6700k if I do some other non-gaming tasks on it)
Corsair Liquid CPU cooler
650w modular power supply
Asus M/B
GTX 1070
16 GB Ram
256 GB SSD

It's unlikely that you'll need the extra processing power of the i7. Other than that, awesome.

Maybe a separate disk for the OS?

My computer build is from 2010 so its ancient by today's standards. I really need to get on it and build a new one someday.

I'm going for small, cool, and quiet this time around. No LEDs, or flashing lights. :)
I also picked up this to share my mouse and keyboard with the gaming system and my Lenovo dock station.

I have triple 24" monitors hooked to my Lenovo dock via 2 Display port cables. (One is daisy chain). I'll use a single HDMI cable from the GTX 1070 to my center monitor and have auto-detect set on the monitor so I don't have to mess around with switching display input sources.

In theory this all should work.

Did the build last night.

Cool air is brought from the front via 1 x 120mm fan/rad combo and 1 x 140mm fan.
The rear rad/fan combo exhaust out the back.

I ended up going with the Hybrid GTX 1070 so now I have a brand new GTX 1070 sealed in the box if anyone wants it. $50 less than what it is selling for now. I can't return it. Stupid NewEgg return policy on video cards. They only replace.

Nevermind. I ended up taking out the EVGA Hybrid 1070 because of a water pump hum/buzz that was driving me nuts and used the MSI 1070 with active cooling instead. Much quieter now. I got the Hybid 1070 from Amazon so I had no problem returning it. Save $100 too.
