I have just bought a set of Majestics and before they’ve even been delivered I’m drooling over all the pron posted on PCF. Already considering upping the ante and putting together a small-stakes cash set of IOCs. Damn those $1s and sexy hot pink fracs. What have I got myself into?! The pound tanked against the US dollar to its lowest point ever (post decimalisation at least) making purchases/shipping from the US a lot more expensive.

Because the UK is going to hell in a hand basket. In order to address the cost of living crisis, the current bunch of ****s in power have vomited up some policies that are going to add £6000 a year to the average mortgage (and my next chipset). The IMF have basically told our government off for acting more like a banana republic than a G7 country. I’m distracting myself from the crisis by looking a colourful little discs of clay.

Am I breaking the rules in my first ever thread by talking politics? Whoops!

Also (just while I find myself in this niche little Venn diagram intersection between US poker chips and UK politics) the opposition are doing their level best to remain the second most credible party by having an MP make comments about the chancellor being ‘superficially black’, which could be an appropriate description of a poker chip but is not an acceptable description of a human being.

This is indeed sad times, just importing into the UK was bad enough before the pound tanking.

I spent the last couple of hours with the Christie's Live "60 Years of James Bond" auction streaming in the background. One of the lots included some of the genuine prop "Casino de Isthmus City" (CDI in PCF parlance) chips used in the filming of Licence to Kill and Goldeneye.

After that the prices around here are positive bargains!

Just over £25k with buyer's premium, but that was likely mostly for the signed tuxedo worn by Timothy Dalton in the casino scenes. Here's more details on the PCF thread
