Hey All, I seen these chips at a Chapters (canadian Barnes and Nobles). I never though to use neutral coliurs it isn't done often but I really dig it. What are your thoughts on these? The set was $80 which is laughable but that's another topic all together

I like the colors. Something with similar neutral colors could be done, and look great. One concern would be colors too close together that could cause dirty stack issues, especially if lighting isn’t ideal.

For the same price per chip, you could certainly get some Tina ceramics, and do something really unique.

Considering there are over 80 colors in the Paulson palette, just about everything has been covered at one time or another. I've seen plenty of casino chips use colors like those. If your question is what do we think of those colors, I think they are fine to use in a set. If you are asking what do we think about those chips, then that's a hard pass. At anything more that 5-10 cents per chip.

Ya in my limited experience so far its the first time I've seen colours like that on poker chips. I dig the colours. The set at the store was definitely a hard pass but I just found the colours to be neat.

Ya, I would ditch the small suit icons on the chip and add maybe three stripes on the outer edge. Maybe the stripes could be brighter colours... idk now I'm going to have to go and try to design something ‍

Contrast is more of an issue rather than neutrality, as such. Many progressions can do with a neutral colour chip, but I generally only use 1, and get lots of colour in for the rest.

Cali progressions that use both a black $20 and white $100 often suffer from too many neutrals, and must make up for it with good edge spot patterns and colours.
