It's not so easy finding time to play poker while providing for the family on a single income. Family time, social events, and other pursuits amd interests all demand time. But I do find time here and there to sling some chips around.

Maybe someday I'll be at the level of @Rhodeman77 but for now, I'm pleased with my 2018 results. I hope 2019 will continue in this fashion!

I don't track it other than knowing my total. If I quit buying chips I would have a shit ton of money from last year. I played three times a month for about four months without a losing session. I had a few break even sessions. No losing sessions. Of course I spent most of it on poker chips :)

As for 2019. I'm +33 dollars :) thanks to @Boother36 for hosting!

Really? Pretty amazing.

It was a crazy ride. I went to @slisk250 meet up the first weekend of AUG. I lost my ass off the first four days. Then I won the ME and ended up only losing 250 on the weekend. If I didn't win the ME it was going to be a 1100 loss.

That was my last losing session until the middle of DEC.

In that stretch I had a handful of +10'ish type nights. A couple of nights that I was in for three buy ins quick, and make a come back to break even or take a small profit. No losing sessions during that time period.

As of now I'm batting 100% for 2019 :)

I missed the four month stretch part, but still a damn nice run!

I was talking to one of my good poker friends the other night and we were saying that poker is one of the few hobbies that people can actually make money while having fun.

Things like golf, skiing, etc cost money every time to go and a regular investment in equipment that doesn’t hold its value.

So any year you can make ANY money while enjoying something you are passionate about is great bonus!

I have heard people gamble on golf, not sure tho......

I dont track my win/losses, I'm afraid it would detract from the fun. In 2018 however...

Zombie Poker Club: 8 events, 2 cashes (2nd, 3rd), and 3 rebuys.
Cash game hosted by Gear: +/- $5
Denver Meetup: Up $15, Up $41, Down $92, Up $403, Main Event: Out of the money, 1 Bounty.
Iceland Meetup: Main Event 3rd, Finished up most sessions, but lost all the gains at the bank when exchanging ISK for USD.

So basically, I got to play poker in 3 countries with roughly 50 great people.

I'd call that a win.

I'm pretty sure a chick of that 403 was mine lol. Of course I was giving money to everyone!

Sounds like it’s time to start playing either higher volume, or higher stakes, or both.

I used to play golf without betting. Now, if I don't have some sort of bet going, I stop paying attention and the game goes south. Gambling literally helps me play better.

I downloaded the app. I want to see how far down I finish for 2019.

For sure! But if people are handicapping correctly there isn’t the edge that can be had at poker. Or as I have seen in my limited golfing experience with scrabbles, people straight up cheat!

Poker Analytics 5 is a pretty good app for the iPhone, and seems to have much the same interface/features as the Android one above, at least based on these screenshots:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/poker-analytics-5-tracker/

They have an annual subscription fee based on usage (1 session/month is free, 1 per week is $15/yr, unlimited is $30/year). 25 free sessions before you have to decide. To me their fee seems trivial in the context of what a single session can earn/lose.
