My friends call me Stumpy (1 Viewer)

I have a dilemma!! Or not... I can either spend that $500 on some awesome sweet chips that will barely get used but be super sick and beautiful....

Or spend $350 on a pool table that will get used almost daily....

Damn I think I might have to buy both.... I mean.. Wait to buy chips :(

Thoughts???

If money is that tight, I'd get the pool table first if it's really gonna get that much more use.

Buy both! Then since you have a pool table I'll sell you one if my cues and aramith pro balls! Then I can buy more chips and we are all happy.

Yay, just realized that the shop will buy the Pool Table, so I can still get chips!

Off to send some PM's :)

Now we are going to start working on the vibe and feel, setting up a bar rail, some neon signs, posters etc...

Well I've spent a ton of $ on chips, have 200 PCA Secondary $1's coming, 100 Pharaoh's Club $5's coming, and 50 Aztar $25's. Due to shipping and exchange rate to CDN, I've spent ~$1000 so far, or ~$2.85/chip. OUCH!

CAN'T WAIT to HOLD them and PLAY with them!

Also have a 600ct Birdcage coming too to house them :)

-edit-

Forgot the purpose of my post, LOL! I couldn't justify 'spending' that much money on chips, however I see the value in them maintaining very well, so I look at it as more of an investment... investing in something I can play with, like a classic car, except something I can afford...lol

After you've built a set or 2, you may be ready for your first CPC set. Hold on tight. Wheeee.

I finally have a "playable" set! 55 TRK Kings Crown Quarters, 200 PCA $1's, 100 Pharaoh's Club $5's, and 50 Aztar $25's.

I have them in a 600ct Birdcage, so 4 racks currently used... I think I want two racks of quarters eventually, so that would be 200 .25's, 200 $1's, 100 $5's, and I might bump up to $200 $5's, but maybe Empress or PCA $5's instead of Pharaoh's Club.

OR, build a set of Pharaoh's Club for my main cash chip set, and keep these beautiful PCA's in the display :)

I love options, lol

Wow, I love the chips. That set would tilt some folks here, but if you like them, Play them!. Good luck with your search and keep building that set. You are off to a good start with this set.

You playing any pool?

I even have OCD but I am new enough that any chips are awesome... Now I'll be more refining..

For some reason I keep wanting to build a "used" set with primaries that gives the feel of well used casino chips... Is that weird? It would also be a bit cheaper to build :)

I love pool and am slowly getting used to the table... It's bar sized but with the smaller balls, so plays a bit differently from the bars I played at, but a bit easier than my Dad's 5x10

I started with a used set of Primaries. I now have another set of used primaries but not as cheap! I also have some mint/uncirculated chips and love the looks of them but I actually prefer playing with the casino used.

So is that a 3 1/2' X 7' table? I played many years competitively but have not picked up a cue in a long time and I have a pool table in my upstairs sanctuary. Do not let the size fool you. Once you have the stroke down you can play on any size table!!! Practice, practice, practice!

It's a 4x8 table, REALLY tight corners compared to most bar tables however... that combined with the smaller balls make a lot of shots far more difficult than they seem... but it's a 3/4" slate table that was probably ~$2500 about 10 years ago..

Damn Stumpy! Very impressed.....not like I'm an old schooler here on PCF or even CT back in the day. But, I do remember your first day becoming a member and having nothing as a collection. Now you're hooked and there's no turning back. I must say, you've got great taste and I'm so damn jelly that you found those Blue Chip quarters. .......I want some for a set I'm working on, so if you ever get tired of them.....you know where to find me......oh and that goes for them Motorcity's as well. LOL Congratulations on the chip journey thus far and keep on keeping on.:)

Thanks! I literally sold a car and put all the $ into poker chips, lol. Everyone around me calls me Chippy now, I'm obsessed. All day every day on here, it is not healthy lol.

Oh well.

Definitely will be ready to play for next game!! I also have 160 $25's coming, maybe we can get some of those on the table??? :)

I still have 800 more Horseshoes showing up tomorrow or the next day, ~470 Aztars next week, and then another 200 tri-moon snappers just got shipped today :)
