Wanted My first nice chip set (2 Viewers)

Hi everyone, I'm new here and looking for my first set, looking to buy a clay set of 500-1000+ chips with a budget of $1.5-3 per chip. Tournament or cash set, I don't really mind.

To give you an idea of the sets I've seen so far that I like a lot:

1. I had hoped to buy the 1345 set of Grand Casino Gulfport hotstamps, but unfortunately it looks like that sale has been cancelled
2. Cali Rounders were absolutely beautiful but I was too slow on that one (doh!)
3. Paulson GCRs look great but I'm honestly worried about the warping issue
4. CPC hot stamps are great too

Well if you like the Cali Rounders and the CPC hot stamps you can very easily make your own custom CPC.

Those are all great choices. The #1 tip from old timers is get sample chips from the set you plan to buy. Good luck and put on your seat belt cuz the ride down the rabbit hole will be AWESOME!!

For under $3 per chip your options are pretty wide open, especially if you are not in a grand hurry.

Nevada Jack's clay and BCC Samurai Palace sets have both been available recently for a buck or two per chip, just to name two of the many, many nice sets that have come up for sale around here and on eBay in the recent weeks.

You could go with customs from CPC, as well. Inlaid chips with level 4 spots run anywhere from $2.18 to $2.76 per chip, depending on the mold. That might increase a little in February, but not enough to bump out of your budget.

If there is something specific you are looking for, or want to sample, don't be shy about asking. I've seen a number of random "Looking for XYZ chips" classifieds succeed when I thought there was little to no chance of those chips being made available.
