Hi, I'm new here and trying get some info so i can get together a cash set of casino used Paulsons.

Somewhere between 300 and 500 chips with $1 - $5 - $25 - $100 denominations.

I see a lot of Horeshoe popping up, but i was wondereing: What are the most common casino used chips out there?

Winston, Welcome to the forum. It would be hard to say what is the most common and much easier to say which are rare.

Horseshoe Cleveland and Cincinnati chips are available pretty often. In fact I think one of the vendors may still have some Cincinnati chips available. You can also wait to see what one of other vendors has announced just this morning. He is on his way to pick up some casino used Paulsons in Oklahoma. These will be your best bet to get a decent size set at a good price. Both of the vendors are the guys who brought the Horseshoe chips to the community and made them available for sale to our community.

Also once you get 10 posts you should place a wanted ad in the classified section and let us know what you are looking for. I would imagine there will be some sets ready for the taking with the announcement of the new Casino chips that will soon be hitting the market.

Good Luck with your search!

Thanks David for taking the time to post this and guiding me to my first paulsons :)

Good you're asking the right questions. I wish I had. I also recommend getting sample sets of the different manufacturers so you can get a feel for what you like. I mean how they actually feel.

With real casino chips the factor of wear comes into play. For instance the Horseshoe Cleveland's have super worn $5s and the $1s have been through battle and come out the other side with the scars to prove it. It doesn't bother me and ads to the authenticity but I work with museums. Some folks here prefer chips that are much closer to mint and are willing to pay for the premium.

Don't hesitate to ask more questions or for more advice. I'm still pretty new here but I've been very impressed by how the community is very generous with their expertise which is amazingly deep.

Welcome aboard!

Casino Aztar Indiana ..... cheap and plenty of them around

Really like the design on those! The anchor set i've seen on chipvault would also be great but they don't seem to have 100 denomination which is too bad.

I'm hesitant to post a wanted ad in the classifieds section though. I should probably get my hands on a CPC / ASM sample set first.

I 100% agree about the wear being a factor. I was all excited when I first started when I found out that I could actually buy my hometown casino chips for use in my home poker game. I bought them via some photos on the forum and when they came in, they were really roached. I estimate they were 2/3 of the original thickness and and a couple of mm gone off the width. I was pretty disappointed and sold them rather quickly. My new set is all in excellent condition...so excellent that I almost don't want to put them in play (but I will).

Get samples for sure before you spend the big $$.
