Between these Matsuis and SF Hybrids, what do most people prefer?

Also, any way to get a sample set of these chips?

Completely different feel to both chips, I love both, but they are very different. Matsuis are one piece, flat, heavier and appear thick, SF hybrids have a shiny sheen with an indented inlay. Not really comparable, but both are outstanding and will get a lot of “wow!”s from appreciative players.

Can we order blanks?

I’m thinking 500 - frac, 5 - $1, 1000 - $5, 100 - $20 for a Cali cash set lol

For me...Matsui, hands down, not even close.
I have both and I totally agree.
Just the total opposite for me. Matsui chips (these included) are heavy metal-slugged clankers that are simply too slick to provide a decent playing experience, regardless of how nice they might look. Wouldn't buy, keep, or use a set of 'em, even if free.

On the other hand, Sun-Fly 43mm hybrids are 10g, stack like bricks, sound like a cross between ceramics and clay chips, and the sky's the limit when it comes to design (so they can look as cool as your imagination allows). Also about 1/2 to 1/3 the price of Matsui. No brainer imo.

well that’s enough for me lol maybe I’ll hold off getting a set  :ROFLMAO:

They do look super nice though

Sorry, none for me. I've fallen for that "wow those Matsui chips look fantastic" trap before. Fool me once....

Good luck with the buy, and hope y'all enjoy 'em. They make some great-looking eye candy.

I'd get samples and then decide. Plenty of members held off on the 1st GB, then got samples (lots of error T500s out there) and interest started for round two. There won't be any round 3. Its now or never. (never for @BGinGA)

Any members out there, preferably from Canada, that have samples to send to me so I can see? If you also have any sunfly hybrids to compare, that would be awesome.

I’d like to but samples cost so much to ship to Aus. I have these on the left at home, which I played with at a casino in Johannesburg. I understand the 25 and 10 might be matsui. I like the look and feel of them. @liftapint youve got a sample of these, do they seem similar to the matsuis from this group buy.

Bought a barrel of the square-edge version to see if they were any better than the beveled. Nope.

I was on the fence for the original GB since it's a lot of money for something that I wasn't 100% sure on - I did go for a sample set though. I'm a huge fan now I have them in hand. Love the sharp edges.

I just got them out and put them on the scale. The group buy Horseshoe chips are a tiny bit heavier (61.57g vs 63.95g for 5 chips). And they sound a little different. For me, what sets the Horseshoes apart, is the square edges. Really makes them terrific, to me. And yes, that black 100 is gorgeous!

There are all kinds of things that I don't really like about the Sunfly hybrids. But the biggest is the colors. They just don't "pop". They don't seem very rich. Don't like the glossy edges. Yeah, the price is nice. But STILL not worth it to me. I guess I'm thankful that there is at least one type of poker chip on the planet that I don't want. LOL.

Thanks @liftapint

I do agree on those square edges, they look great. The colours on that set really pop as well.

It’s tempting.

@Tommy is it possible to have a 100k label mocked up so that we can relabel a chip (e.g. the 5) to fit this denomination?

Since Matsiu doesn't offer labels or blank chips, its best to have that done individually so it doesn't add artwork cost to the GB.

Yeah, I was thinking Gear for the label, just wanted to know if the artwork can be sent to him instead of him having to reinvent.

Has anyone taken a photo of the sample colour kits showing the t5 colours? @Tommy

I’ve had a search but can’t find it, and I’m interested to see what they look like, other than on the mock-up.
