I have a set of 1,5,25,100,500 of Majestic Star Casino Paulson chips bought from Apache. I'm curious, shouldn't these chips have some sort of UV or other security markings on them to validate they are authentic by the casino? How would I be able to see them on mine?

If you’re concerned about the authenticity of those chips, don’t be - Apache is a reputable seller; those are genuine Paulson casino chips.
I don’t own any Majestic Stars so I can’t speak to them specifically. But yes many (though not all) older Paulson chips have had UV markings that are invisible to the naked eye. Just grab a $10 UV flashlight from Amazon and check them out for yourself.

Thanks!! No question in them being legit from Apache, just wanted to be able to see them since I think it is kind of cool since they are casino used chips.

This is awesome! Thank you! So the $100's do not have a hat security marking but 5's do?
Sometimes the UV ink either fades or wasn’t that strong to begin with. It looks like the PAULSON is there on the $100, in the same spot as the $1,000 chip, just very faint.

Ahh thanks, interesting! I will have to see how they look on mine. I'm surprised though, I would have thought the 100's + would be used far less than 1's and 5's and thus be more brighter in the uv markings than the 5's and 1's, assuming the amount of use impacts the uv durability.

I’m pretty sure the ink is under the lamination, so it wouldn’t fade from wear. It may fade with an environmental element…or simply that when it was manufactured, the ink was lighter on those.

That is an interesting take as well... just curious, why would a casino put into play chips that 100+ with lighter UV markings than the 1's 5's? Seems backwards to me, I am surprised they would even spend the money to watermark the 1's and 5's, but thought it would be a big deal for them to make sure the uv markings were as bright and clear as possible on 100+ ?

100$ are very used, I cleaned them when I recieved from TCR sale. Maybe UV Paulson it's a bit faded. Anyway, the pink spots are very bright under UV light

Possible they have other security measures built into the higher denoms? Microdot? RFID?

Thanks. I thought about how much use as a factor, but certainly 1's and 5's would have more miles on them than 100's +, at least I would assume so.

Thanks for that info! So the pink spots are an actual UV security measure for 100+ as well? I am clueless on this subject, but would just pink molding be enough to protect against counterfeit?

yeah, that is what I am curious of as well since the UV markings seems to leave the chips vulnerable to counterfit on these.

Yeah, is that a dot just to the left of the red $100 denom? If it is, it's an additional security measure that has tiny, almost microscopic writing on it.

Yeah.. .maybe? If there wasn't any other security measures like rfid on 100+ I dont know how they defended against counterfeits. I'm not sure how/why majestic casino closed, but I dont think losses from counterfeit chips is out of the realm as a large factor for me, lol.

Majestic Star 25-100-500-1000-5000$ all have security dot
